When you are a blogger, especially when starting, bad habits are attack us from behind and cling to us like leeches. Not so easy to detect and get rid of them isn’t it? To help you become a respectable blogger, who blogs as a real pro, here’s a list of habits to lose  …

Become a Pro Blogger

1. Stay distracted

This is one of the major problems when you start in the world of blogging and writing. Concentration is something crucial if you want to be productive and publish quality content. Once began to write an article, you must stay there, at any cost. Turn off e-mail, log out of Facebook, Twitter, etc …, turn off the TV, not watching the statistics of your blog every 5 minutes (it will not move faster), you should concentrate on your content. If you do not feel like writing, then leave your desk and take a walk. A little break for a drink does not hurt and can sometimes be a source of creative ideas.

2. Do not reply to comments

The lack of relationship between author and reader, here is another habit shared by many bloggers, beginners and experienced. Personally, I comment fairly regularly on articles that I found interesting and my comments are, in most cases encourage and are constructive response. Unfortunately, it is (too) often that no response is sent to me which hinders my desire to quickly post new. When one of your readers takes its time to write something, I do not mean comments like “thank you for the article,” are also taking your time to answer him. Only one response will show him that you are concerned about what he writes, even if you disagree. This will make more interesting discussions and your readers will not hesitate to post new comments on your next publications.

3. Have an irregular rhythm of publication

When you get into blogging, give yourself a publication rate. I have seen many bloggers be enthusiastic at the beginning of their business by publishing a dozen articles a day, but after some weeks of hard work, they eventually let go. Do not do the mistake of publishing five articles a day for a week and nothing for the two following. You never make your readership that way. Establish a rhythm and keep it

4. Do not cite sources

Some bloggers are true parasites and do not hesitate a second to copy and paste the contents and the ideas of others, never do that. Often inspiration comes not alone and you have to draw information and ideas to right to left, but this should not be a source of duplication. When you land on an article on the internet, the first thing to do is not to copy it entirety, but rather to change it completely, with your own expressions. The second thing is to always cite your sources. If you do not, you will not get far, for sure…

5. Do not read

Everybody hates proofreading a paper, but unfortunately this is an essential step, unless you have enough money to hire someone to do it. Proofread your content at least twice for not to miss any mistakes or missing word. Do not hesitate to preview your article before publication to identify any problems in terms of readability.

All 5 points are a must Greg, the most important is #3 for me, if you can’t stay consistent you won’t build the momentum needed to succeed and get to the next level.
