Blogging has never been a lake but an ocean, never seems to be shrinking. With such a thing can you ever say that you have seen every part of it and you are very good at it? Well, to be fair even a very successful pro-blogger will say no. The very point of me telling is that learning things in blogging is a ever growing process but you can at least get a catch of things that you should not do which might hurt you in growing yourself as a blogger. Today in this article i will give you basic things which you must avoid as a blogger, so that these mistakes never hurt your path.

Blogging mistakes

Too Many Websites:

Bloggers sometimes get a bit carried away and mostly the newbie bloggers, they feel that running multiple websites will help them fetch more money and reputation. Yes, you can make good money by doing that but you also need to keep in mind that quantity never overcomes quality. If you are sure that you will be able to maintain multiple sites, then it is well and good. But don’t just go for multiple sites by focusing on covering lots of topics and having no good quality in it. It can really degrade your mental state when you see no good results, better try to make one count then move to the next.

Keyword Research:

One of the biggest mistake that i made when I started blogging was definitely this. I never researched on Keywords and never targeted them. Finally, I saw no good visitors from Search engines which normally should have for the number of articles I wrote. If you are not targeting Traffic or Money then you can always choose to neglect researches, but if you want to succeed in blogging then you need to do this. Talented writing alone is not enough in Blogging mate.

Focus On Just Making Money:

Money is a secondary thing and i have always seen that once you have established your blog, you will definitely get to make good money. For that reason you should not start a blog with that motive, it can really hurt you later. I would recommend not to add ‘Infolinks’ type ads on your blogs at the initial stage because it can really annoy the person who is reading your blog. My advice would be to blog and then think of money rather than thinking of money and then blogging.

Networking:

People always forget that Networking is a very essential to have good success in blogging. I see people never guest post thinking that why should we help the other blog to get traffic from our article. Well,if you are one of those then certainly you would not have good traffic. Guest posts are always vital and essential part of a blogger, which exposes his talents to readers of other blogs, thus not only building links but also helps you get readers for your blog. Communicate with bloggers and get to know them better. This will be helpful when you need them.

Blogging Platform:

WordPress or Blogger has always been the best platforms to start your  blog. Does BLOGGER really have in it to help you more than WordPress? Although it is backed by Google, still i feel that WordPress has a lot more resources which will help you become a better blogger than BLOGGER.

But different people have different opinions , you may see that although HBB is hosted and runs on WordPress, this post WordPress VS Blogger written by a guest blogger actually differs from my thought.

Being Niche Less:

It is like you are heading on to a target but you actually don’t know what the target is. Definitely if you are just posting articles on random stuff you are no less than a stranger on a lost path. Not only will you not be able to help a group of readers be satisfied by the articles but Google also doesn’t appreciate it.  If you write on a regular and series of article only then you will be able to cover a complete topic and that is what Google expects from you. So that is why you need to write on a particular Niche and be ready to see the real difference.

SEO:

SEO is a very basic necessity of a blogger who is trying to make his presence felt in the blogging world. You need to know the basic things about SEO and implement them so that you can see traffic from Search Engines in the near future. I would recommend you to learn basics of SEO and then start writing articles, so that it will be really beneficial for you.

Some very good points there and you didn’t even mention anything about the quality of the post content.

If you focus completely on making money with blogs then you will almost definitely fail.

Too many websites, that is my problem, but I like them all, I think I need to switch some from blog format to static websites so I can focus my blogging on 2-3 websites instead of a dozen.
