Everyone is talking about branding your blog these days. Branding the name, the favicon, the gravatar, everything has become very important in highly competitive blogosphere. I have read quite a few articles in last one month and thought that I can too give my verdict on this.

What is Branding?

Think of computers and first names that come to you is Microsoft. Think of search engines and Google enters your mind. Why? Because they have become a brand. They have dominated their niche and made sure that it is only them when people think of their niche and recognize them with their symbols and tagline.

Same goes in blogging. As soon as we say make money blogging, first name that creeps in is Problogger because he has become a brand. To become a successful blogger, a lot of effort goes and here is how you can achieve this branding.

1. Get a unique gravatar, favicon, logo and tagline

The first step looks easy but it is not. Before you start your own blog, decide a gravatar for your comments. Also, think for a unique logo, tagline and favicon that differentiate you from other bloggers. Use the same gravatar in every comment and popularize your logo and favicon. And try to use tagline in various places.

2. Unique style and design

A custom theme which is just designed for your blog is one of the best ways of branding. Get your blog a customized theme which has not been copied anywhere.
