The Effect of Increasing Bloggers
Since the day, I have started blogging; life has been full of some unforgettable experiences, both good and bad. When I started blogging, there were not many people around me where I could look for help. But today, 6 months from that date, when I see the blogosphere; I can see lots and lots of blogs around who have started in last 3 months.
It’s always good to see this much people around but how these emerging bloggers has affected the already established is very interesting. I observing it from quiet a long time and this is what I have inferred in a last one month or so.
POSTING FREQUENCY HAS INCREASED
The increasing number of upcoming bloggers has forced the established ones to post more frequently. Previously, they usually take the luxury to write at their own leisure because of less blogs. But now they know that if they do not write regularly, their visitors will leave them and find a new blog to read. I have seen 2 bloggers whose frequency has increased. I won’t name them here but this healthy competition will certainly benefit the visitors.
ADVERTISING RATES HAS COME DOWN
The old bloggers has slashed their advertising rates because the upcoming bloggers have decided to offer the advertising spots at much lesser rates than their counterparts. And the advertisers are happy because they are paying half the price of what they were paying before.
The new bloggers are certainly doing a lot of good for new bloggers. Although some of them might close down their blog after few months but those who will keep the hard work going, will make their name in the blogosphere for sure.

You’re post was right on, so much competition now for blogging. Partly due to the recession and because so many bloggers who have succeeded online in the past. Now everyone wants their own blog, but most of them probably think it’s going to be easy.
I’ve noticed several blogs that I read daily have increased their posts weekly. Many of them at least 1 or 2 new posts a day.
The thing is however, just because you post more doesn’t mean you’re content is high quality or more valuable to your readers. I think producing high quality content is much more important than writing more mediocre posts.

This is so really true, about the advertising rate, they have become damn cheap due to the competition and people really underestimate themselves and give ad slots for such low prices that are way behind their actually worth. We cannot stop new bloggers from rising , but we can easily survive this high competition thing if we can make a difference from others, and reach the people to whom the blog posts are intended for.

Advertising rates have really come down to a great extent. Ad spots are now available at almost half the prices than they were before.

Hi, I think that the point you said about reducing ad rates is very true. There is no shortage of blogs for advertisers, there is no longer a monopoly of any kind!

I’m not surprised to see many more new bloggers joining the band wagon daily! But in my over 5 years of blogging experience, what I’ve seen is that – starting a new blog is the easiest part; continuing blogging isn’t!
So I’m NOT worried about the new blogs that keep popping up every minute. I know at the end of the day, readers are intelligent enough to identify quality from mediocrity. No offense!

There are definitely more blogger than over. One major reason for this is the ease of creating blogs. With very flexible platforms such as WordPress, this allows anybody with niche knowledge to create a blog, and this in undoubtedly a good thing for the spread of free knowledge.

Yeah, advertising rates have come down. seems like the more time we blog, the less we earn or we are stucked on the same earnings for a long long time even we double or triple our effort.

Well, I don’t think that loss in ad revenue will actually hurt a professional blogger. If a blogger is really professional then I don’t see any reasons why (s)he shouldn’t be able to derive the same kind of ad revenue from advertisers as before 2 years.

When I used to blog in 2008 starting, there were not so many blogs to look and take inspiration from. Even though there was one top blog, the author neither replied to the comments and mails posted. So, it was just like a one man voyage. And more over Darren Rowse helped me a ton with all his inputs and suggestions on his blog.
You can say that I absorbed most of the posts by Darren.
