Always Choose a .Com Domain
Domains are very important aspect of blogging. A good domain name ensures successful career as a blogger. Lot has been written about how to select a good domain name or virtues of a good domain name. So, I am refraining myself from that thing. What I want to tell you today is that how important .com domain is.
When I first got accustomed to the internet and World Wide Web, I knew only about .com domains. Infact, at that time, only .com domains were popular. I do not think I ever heard of .org or .net domain 9 years back.
Soon, org and net domains gained popularity and made their presence felt. And today, the .com domains are so popular that today, getting a common .com is not easy at all. So, many webmasters opted for the same domains with less popular extensions like .in and .info. They were happy because they got the domain they wanted, although with a different extension. And nobody paid attention to what they have been losing with this choice.
I will tell you what you are losing if you are blogging with an .in or some other domain. Firstly, .in extension does not completely tell your visitors that you are serious about blogging. It leaves a doubt in their mind regarding the same. Secondly, .in domains are not very popular among search engines. And I can tell you this because I have personally experienced it. My previous blog had an .in extension. The traffic from Google was not huge and I never noticed it. It happened when Puneet took my attention towards it. He told me that search engine traffic is very low and the bit that is coming is all from Google India website. I am not getting global search engine traffic.
I was really taken aback. He was very right. I immediately decided to change my blog completely. Except WordPress, I changed my domain, theme, content and every other thing. And I have started to get positive results.
So, I will advise you all to get a .com domain. And if .com is impossible, go for .net or .org extensions. These should be yours obvious choices and will ensure that you get maximum traffic and exposure.

Agree. I also choose a .com for my blog however, it’s really depends to what you want to do with your website.
.in maybe is not good in getting global traffic yet, if you want to sell something to the local, .in is the best domain.
I purchases some .info domain as well. It’s cheap, and available on the keywords I want. I host it in other server, put some contents, and link back to my main website with the related keywords… Very fast, you will get some link back.
Anyway, that’s my point of view. Hope to see more post from you.

Your right bro… .com domains give more value to your blog than others… even a visitor who have only heard about the name of your blog will fist try it with a .com !

and all the browsers have a shortcut for .com domain…… yoursitename and hit ctrl + enter

Even for search engine purposes the .com is far better than any other domain.

i am really agree with u
bcz whn i used free domain like co.cc i got only 20 lack alexa ranking in 6 month
bt now since only 1 st june i hv started blog with .com i got 10 lackh rank only in 28 days
isn’t is due to only in change of domain ………..
