Launching a blog is as easy as ABC, but maintaining it and making sure that it has got a continuous stream of interesting posts a hell of a task that has got many “greats” pulling out their hair. You have got to keep thinking of innovative content strategies and stay updated with content demands. However, if you use some smart thinking, you can get loads and loads of ideas for your blog.

Following are a few tips!

1). Ask Readers If They Want You To Cover any Topic?

If you already have a social network profile for your blog, it’d be great. If you don’t have, I suggest you create one. It’s a great place to get interactive with readers of your blog and communicate with them. Every once in a while you can ask them if they would like you to cover any special topic? Readers like it when a blogger gives them attention and tries to connect. Chances are that some of them will come up with a number of ideas that you can write about. Asking your readers means that you care about their opinion and they will definitely appreciate you for that.

2). Watch Videos or Read Books Relating to Your Niche

Get educated. Read as much as you can about your industry and stay updated. If reading is too much of a hassle, you can always watch videos and catch ideas to create educational or informative posts. You can even link those videos from your post, giving readers a visual demonstration of what you’re trying to say. You also don’t need to spend all your time reading online. Buy books (i.e. real books and yes, they still exist!) and read at leisure times. Rest assured your reading can give you at least half a dozen topics to address in your blog posts.

3). Seek Inspiration from Daily Life

This is where I totally follow Paulo Coelho and other mystic greats who say one simple word, “Live consciously”. There can be many instances in daily life that can provide you with loads of ideas, should you chose to live consciously. This means, keeping your eyes, your mind and your heart open. Observe people and the problems they face. Regardless of your niche, there is always a connection with real life. Look, pay attention, observe while out and you’ll find what you’re looking for.

4). Pick Ideas from Mainstream media

If you’re out of ideas, worry not! Remember, TV killed the radio star and TV will also kill the blog star, if you don’t pick ideas from it. That box can be savior and it can help you have quite some ideas. From financial to business topics, from technology to relationship issues, everything is covered and uncovered with ingenuity. So stop racking your brains and flip through the channels!

5). Dare to share Your Opinion

Readers get bored of a monotonous blog. They need something interactive. So once in a while, set aside some professionalism and write a personally opinionated post. Use the first person and express all you can about that particular subject. It doesn’t matter what you say is good or bad, right or wrong (though it’s good that you try to have some know-how to avoid making a fool of yourself) as long as it’s energetic; readers would love to go through it.

I think those are more than enough ideas for the time being, and using any one of them will help you deal and shatter the writer’s block. Gear up, shut the PC and go for a walk. Just don’t forget to pick ideas as you stroll ;)
