How to Comment- With Your Name or Blog Name?

Commenting has always been one of the most used ways for promotion of the blog when it comes to free methods. The best part about it is that you do not need to put too much time and effort in commenting. On an average, a single comment takes a minute to be posted. So, if you put in 30 minutes to post 30 comments on high traffic blogs, you are sure to get consistently good traffic to your blog. And if these comments are among the first 5 comments, then you can expect more traffic. If you compare this with the guest post, no doubt you can much better traffic but you have to put in more effort. Commenting is the best option for those who are a bit lazy.

There are following ways of commenting among the bloggers. Let’s look at them and analyze their effectiveness.

1. Your own name- From my observation, I have known that bloggers use their name more often than their blog’s name. And I believe it is a good practice because this way, the blog admin and other fellow commentators get to know you. Using your name stands witness to the fact that you are a genuine commentator. Blogosphere is much about what reputation you build in the initial days and your name will make sure that you are taking part in the discussion and not just here to spread your link. I personally favor the use of my name instead of my blog’s name.
2. Your blog name- With my previous blog, I used its name everywhere. Using your blog name is a good strategy because it arouses curiosity among those who reads your name provided your blog name is provoking enough. And I must say that using blog name was effective because

- I was using the short name for my blog and never tried to spam. Every comment was genuine and relevant to the post.

- The name of my blog was not something that hinted spam. Almost 100% of my comments have been published.

1. Your blog name + your name- One of the best strategies and is very popular because it serves both purposes mentioned above. You just need to keep one thing in mind with this strategy. Do not make the name too long. Keep in mind the length of the name you are using.

I have used both my name and my blog’s name in my blogging career. But I prefer using only name although the blog’s name brought me more traffic. What’s your say?
