Guest posting contests are a rage this season in the blogosphere. I have already been a part of one of these that was held at SmartBloggerz and waiting for results but missed the one at BlogGodown. Also, at the moment, there are few contests running of the same at FamousBloggers, MelvinBlog and MyBlog2Day. I am not sure whether I will be able to participate in these two due to time constraint but this is really a good opportunity for those who want some cash and other prizes.
Whenever you see a new contest, you compliment the organizers; you praise the prizes and start working to win the contest. But you forget those people who make the contest successful- THE SPONSORS. In a contest, 75% of the prize contribution is done by sponsors and the prizes offered by them, whether in cash or in other stuff, make contest a huge hit.
Well, if you are thinking to start a contest and looking for sponsors, first make sure of the following things.
1. Your blog is popular – Sponsors take part in a contest for one main reason- so that other people can come to know about them. And for this, it is very important that your blog is popular and have decent traffic. And other bloggers should know that there is a Mr. X, a blogger who runs www.abcdefgh.com. If more people know you and visit you regularly, there are chances that more and more will participate in the contest and the sponsors will get full exposure.
2. Keep things simple- I have seen that some bloggers tend to make the contest bit complex, mixing too many things together and ultimately, making things difficult for the participants. Keep it simple and make it easy for others to participate. Do not put too many constraints on them and at the same time, make sure that it is fair and gives equal opportunities to everyone.
3. The niche of the blog matters- For a successful blog contest and getting sponsors, niche of the blog is important. The contests in this niche give huge prizes and holds maximum contests. The very testimony to the fact is the first paragraph of this post, where I have mentioned 5 great contests in span of 2 months. So, the right blog in right niche can ensure maximum sponsors for your blog.
I have always wondered how much heart sponsors have that they offer the prizes worth up to $500. It is really big money guys. Find time to spare a thought for them.

You know what, if I dnt get any sponsor, I personally shoot an email to all the sponsors that sponsored any contest in the past in any blog.
that’s is the way that most bloggers do for their first contest…..a seasoned blogger attracts sponsors
