Every blogger today knows something about the popular word “Google Page Rank”. If you are not, well then let me help you. Google Page Rank refers to periodic discrete rank updates from Google, through which every blog provides a rating from zero to ten based on certain factors like number of backlinks, quality of content, etc. Google releases a Page rank update once in every 4 months, but does not provide any information on the dates of the upcoming update. Last PR update hit the websites in February 2013, and the next one was expected to arrive in August, but seems to have been postponed due to some unknown reasons.
Though Google had already confirmed in February that it would continue to roll out the page rank updates over the Internet, as these updates even help in setting up a sort of trust factor of the visitor over some unknown websites. The more your rank, the better trust factor you have. Apart from trust factor, pages with higher ranks are also given preference in a search engine’s results over pages with lower ranks. This makes Google Page Rank a real critical tool for every website.
Most of the bloggers believe that the only way to improve your Page Rank is to pay an SEO expert, but this is not always true. If you are a blogger looking forward to understand the concepts of page rank, and implement various techniques to improve your page rank, then this post is just for you. I’ll now share a few of my personal tricks which you can easily use for better page rank from your blog.
1. Content, Content, and Content
People often ask me the key behind a successful blog, and I just have one answer “Content”. A blog gains popularity in the market from three factors: a good content, a better content, and an excellent content. The sole concept of a blog remains lifeless unless it is fertilized with good quality content. There are innumerable advantages linked with content ranging from better user experience, improved search engine ranking, efficient customer relationship, to enhanced page rank.
2. Consistent Posting
I had a friend who was a moody blogger. When he was in his tone, he used to drop 4 posts on the same day, and then remain invisible for the next 10 days. This is not what I expect from a good blogger. You need to make a perfect balance between quality and quantity. An excellent quality article is simply worthless even if you can just manage one article in a month. You need to show some consistency towards your job. If you are posting 5 articles in a week, continue with your practice and show complete dedication towards it. Five means five, neither four, nor six.
3. Internal Links and External Links
The whole concept of Page Rank revolves around backlinks. If a blog has several backlinks from high PR blogs, then it will definitely be benefited when the next PR update rolls out. To build up backlinks, simply visit other blogs, and drop one to two comments on their posts. Remember not to spam as spamming here is not allowed, and your comment would never get published. You may even opt to write guest posts to build up backlinks. Another thing to pay attention here is that you should not make more than 2 backlinks in a single day, because you might arise as some element of suspicion for Google. Make sure that all your posts are internally linked with each other to ensure uniform distribution of page rank to all pages.
4. Add Keywords to your Title as well as your Content
Keywords play an important role in SEO, and similarly, they are important for Page Rank perspective too. Your title must be short, simple, easy to understand, and it must contain your keyword. The same keyword must be carried on to the content of the post, image descriptions, links, and other positions. Make sure that you do not do keyword stuffing, or your content would be marked as spam. You must follow all the SEO strategies I have covered in special SEO article to help you with PR.
5. Duplicate Content is not Acceptable
Google is not a fool, and nor should you try to make it. It makes use of some of the most sophisticated algorithms on Earth, and if you ever try to cheat it by any means, you can end up in good trouble. Content duplicity is marked as spam in the virtual world, and you must always remember it.
6. Improve Your Website Load Time
Even if your website is not super fast, you must at least try to make it reasonable. Compress down your images, and pay attention to other larger files to improve your overall site speed. This will not only improve user experience, but also impress Google.
7. Timeless Content
You must always try to write down something which is universal as well as eternal. Finding such content for a news blog might be a tough task, but for most of the blogs, it is not that difficult. If your article has the same value for months, it will continue to gain visitors, and improve your page rank.

Pinterest is one of those social media networks which allows for better backlinks to your blog. You can manage different boards for different topics under your blog, and simply add a new pin every time you post a new article.
I have personally tested, and used all the techniques defined above, and received some good response from Google. While the virtual world is full of debates on the next PR update, it is always better to get your weapons ready for the downfall. Google declared recently that it would not notify the bloggers about any further Panda updates, and even Google PR seems to be falling under the same umbrella. No one knows exactly when it will be rolled, but yes once you follow all the above steps, you can hope for a better Christmas gift this time. If you have something else in your treasure chest apart from the above tactics, do share it with us in the comment section.
