India & Blogging Scenario

It all started when the icon of India, Amitabh Bachchan created his blog. It was a huge hit. It attracted traffic as the magnet attracts iron. Mr. Bachchan started blog to get connected with his fans and share his daily ups and downs with them. But some more intellectual people thought about cashing this opportunity and blogging was introduced to Indians.

indiablog

In the early days, bloggers used to write down their views on different things in the world. In those days, there were very few flourishing blogs and so the advertisers used to advertise there. Then, Google introduced Adsense, a revolution in the field of online advertising. It became a hit with both advertisers and publishers. Gradually, many other ways of online advertising developed and bloggers started making money with their blog.

Indians were still behind at this stage. They only knew that blogging = share thoughts. It’s like an online diary and they did not have slightest idea about how making money through it.

But since last 2 years, blogging has caught some serious pace in India. Indian bloggers have identified the hidden potential in this and launched number of blogs and failed. Nobody knew the exact steps how to get started, so this was bound to happen. I WAS ONE OF THEM.

As the time passed, Indians started to taste success in blogging and their story became headlines. And in last 2 years, there are many blogs from India which have a reputation in the blogosphere.

There are many reasons why I feel Indians have a slight edge over other bloggers from all over the world.

  1. Indians are still new to blogging and there are still lots and lots of blogs to come up. These upcoming bloggers will look for information when they will get serious and my blog could work as a good knowledge base for them. I could get a good subscriber support in the span of next one year.
  2. The returns that you will be getting will actually be much greater than it sounds. As we know, all the transactions on internet are dollar based. In India, one dollar holds a lot of value ($1= Rs. 45 approx). So, earnings of $100- $200 per month is quite good money considering the fact that blogging is a part time job.
  3. India is a developing economy. The corporate are still not that familiar with what blogging can achieve for them. I too do not know what advantage this may hold but I have a hunch that it will be beneficial to bloggers. Who knows what opportunity might come up their way.

Blogging is still making its way in India and this is the best time if you want to invest in blogging. Take it seriously, do your part sincerely and the success will kiss your feet.
