In my each and every post till date, I have laid emphasis on how important traffic is for the new blog. And I know this because I had myself experienced this. My previous blog was in need of traffic and I just could not get enough visitors. Now here is a big question for new bloggers- should they advertise?
Every blogger wants traffic and for new blogs, it is must. Advertising is a good option and can reap you huge benefits in the long run. But there are few things you need to keep in mind before you pay for your blog’s advertisement.
- You are serious about blogging- If you are part time blogger and blogs only for your own leisure and making money is not your main motive, do not advertise. Only people who want to make money through their blogs are desperate to get visitors. If you are not serious, do not waste your money.
- You have something to offer- You think you have some information which will be beneficial for your readers, then advertise. Visitors should come back to your blog again. Advertising could get you first time visitors; it is your content that makes them come back again.
- You have something in your PayPal account- Previously; if you have earned little money online which is safe in your PayPal account, use it for advertising. Do not invest anything from your pocket just for getting some new visitors. There are many other ways to get them.
Pros
- You will get visitors- If you advertise, you can be sure of one thing- TARGETED VISITORS. The rest depends on you how efficiently you write so that they visit you again.
- One month of advertising is enough- This much time is more than enough to create your reader base. If you can invest about $10, you will get around 1000 visitors and they should be enough to encourage you. If you keep on writing quality posts, 900 out of 1000 will come back.
Cons
- Do not spend before you earn- You are not sure whether your blog will be a success. So, why to invest money from your pocket and risk it? There are many other ways to earn some money which you can use for promotion and advertisement of your blog.
- You can get visitors for free- Forums and blog directories can fetch you visitors for free. Although, the speed will be slow but if you can get 150-200/month without spending anything, then why to waste money?

So true! Its nice how you’ve brought out the different goals that bloggers might have. Made me think on mine.
Here is a revelation – Although I have earned enough via blogging, I’m yet to spend any on advertisement. I think, why to spend on advertisement when I can get the same amount of traffic (on a long term basis) by spending some time daily on my blog promotion, myself?

Well I always recommend take advantage of blogging from the first day but never clutter your blog with unwanted ads and never compromise at the cost of post readability

Well, yeah advertising is a must if you thinking of making your blog as your profession but there are attractive packages on eBay, like 20$ for about 20k visitors, which is much better than google’s keywords but that traffic might not return back again if the blog is of low quality or of matters that hardly make a difference but to invest something in advertising you gotta earn something for that you might register on some PTC sites, which will pay you very little and on the other hand there is a website called http://www.OkPay.com which can act as a source of income if you invite people to the e-wallet service provider.
