Who do you market your products and services to – is it to corporate
business or customers?
If you can answer this question clearly, then turning a profit in your online venture is as simple as your next breakfast.
I’ve seen a lot of bloggers and internet marketers making ugly mistakes repeatedly.
You should map out your core prospects, so that you can deliver the right products and services that works.
You can’t continue waking up each morning, only to write new article for your blog. It’s not all about commenting on A-list blogs, searching for joint venture partners as in affiliate marketing, and reading quality blogs, these are all vital but the real essence of doing business online is to “add value” or “solve a problem.”
Why Internet Marketing?
Yes, that’s the whole essence of marketing online. Just like offline, everything we do in business is quite similar, the only difference is the medium of delivery.
There are certain products/services that are meant for both business and customers. These includes domain names and webhosting, autoresponder service and web design etc. But products such as info-products, membership site, wordpress plugins, affiliate offers etc are for customers.
The essence of determining the exact target market, is to streamline your advertising campaigns, approach your content from the end users perspective.
How To Succeed Marketing To Business
If your products and services are meant for corporate businesses, then you should be informed rightly on how the sales funnel goes. Corporate firms when deciding on any given service, follows a channel of communication. The board (no matter how small), has to sit down, talk about a given task before taking the right action.
Decision making isn’t an overnight adventure. It involves a lot of paper work, and corporate firms are careful about spending money. You really need to build up your sales skill in order to win the hearts of corporate firms.
Although, a single deal when completed could mark the beginning of greater things in your online business. But it does take time. But be rest assured, every effort you put into marketing to firms, it’s surely going to pay off tremendously, if you stick around.
Often, selling to businesses is term “B2B Marketing” and selling to customers directly is termed “B2C Marketing,” of which we shall discuss more.
How To Succeed Marketing To Customers
This is the most common type of marketing. B2C marketing involves selling your products and services to the end user directly. This type of selling also has a channel, called “sales funnel.” When you consider the components of a sales funnel, you will see Traffic, Capture, Lead, Sales Page and Back End.
All these terms are initiated to help you achieve greater conversion from every traffic you generate. By traffic, I mean a prospective customer, who has need for your products and services.
To succeed with B2C Marketing, you need to set a clear goal of how many targeted visitors you want. These visitors are to be conveyed through a series of offers in order to pre-sell them. That’s why you must capture their email address and phone number (optional), and then redirect them to a sales page.
If they fail to make purchases instantly, you can follow up on them via autoresponder messages. Using a sales funnel would definitely increase your conversion rate.
I’ve been using this system to sell my affiliate products, and recently on my review blog that features mware coupon, acronis coupons and icontact coupon deals, my conversion rate soared with almost zero effort.
Marketing Takeaway
For every business or customer you market to, always remember that human beings are behind those terms. These people have blood running down their veins, and would appreciate it when you treat them with Kingly homage.
It doesn’t take much to please customers, a quiet time would reveal the impeccable secrets of winning prospect’s mind.
