Writing style is a very important part of your blogging. A lot depends on it and it has the potential of defining your blog’s success. I have always emphasized the importance of your unique writing style. In this reference, you can read my article on the importance of unique writing style.

Blogger’s View

Every blogger has one aim- to make his blog a success. For this, he needs visitors or more precisely, traffic. Bulk of this traffic should come from search engines because that is an indicator of the popularity of the blog. For this, bloggers use long tail keywords to attract search spiders. And because of this usage of long keywords, the post becomes little mechanical type. While going through it, you do not find the expected flow in language.

Actually, it is not the blogger’s fault. It’s very obvious that blogger needs traffic from every possible source and search engines contribute to the majority of it. So, somewhere in between, posts sounds like robot which your reader might not like.

Reader’s View

Your readers are most important for you. You want to connect to the real human beings around you and not with search engine robots. Those who reach your blog through search engine might be one time visitors and to convert them into regular readers, you need to give them content that is in a simple language and helpful to them. In this way, you will get two benefits.

1. Readers will comment and that will lead to healthy interaction that will lead to long term relationships.

2. You will be appreciated for keeping reader’s first and search engines next and will spread you in the blogosphere.

But I want traffic from search engines too. What to do?

Here is a simple tip which I employ. Install the All in One SEO Pack plugin in your blog. After you have written your post, scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Therein, write the title and description of the post using keywords to attract search engines. This will help you in serving the above 2 purpose effectively.

This was my opinion on Readers v/s Google Bots. Your opinion matters to us and you all are invited to join in the discussion below.

I don’t even keyword searches anymore. I search them about a month after I post. I have found that within that month, the post will rank on the first two pages on about 4 out of 5 keywords. Spiders can’t join your facebook page, follow you on Twitter, or buy your product. People can so that is who I write for.
