I am using $100 here because that is usually the least payment cash out from Google Adsense if that is what you intend to use for your revenue drive.

earn $100 from blogging

However, in this post, I am going to talk about something more than just depending on Google Adsense and waiting endlessly to cash your first check from them. Haven’t you noticed that a lot of bloggers get their first check after several months? Some even get theirs after a few years.

That is not what you wish for yourself. Hope I am right? I know that Google Adsense has become the traditional way many webmasters depend on to generate revenue from their blogs. But try as much as possible to remove your mind from adsense as you read this post.

Have you just set up a new blog and you are determined to earn your first $100 on your blog in less than 2 months from now? There are several things you are going to do to make your dream a reality.

How to earn your first $100 on your blog

Learn to make $100 in First Two Months

We are going to take some time to look at some of those important things we need to do in order to increase our chances of earning real income with our blogs or website in the shortest possible time.

Please remember that the following mentioned methods are somewhat like make quick money online. But they will only work if you really focus on blogging for next few months. Try to keep your blog posting schedule consistent and make sure you are working at least 2 to 3 hours every day for few weeks to see the best results. Let’s now see how you can make your first $100 on your blogs in less than 2 months.

Use long tail keywords to start a niche site

To stand any chance of making it alongside the big boys, you should never try to write articles based on head term keywords that they are already ranking for on Google’s first page. Instead, look for long tail keywords of such keywords that are less competitive and write on them.

For example, if you search for “blog”, you will see that “blog host” and “blog hosting” have global monthly searches of 49,500 and 40,500 respectively. They both have monthly local searches of 18,100 each (with high competition). But “make your blog” has global monthly search of 74,000 and local search of 33,100, and the competition is medium.

So you can write on keywords like’10 ways to make your blog stand out from the rest’, ‘How to make your blog attract advertisers’, ‘How to make your blog an affiliate haven’, etc. You can easily make Google first page with those headlines and yet withstand the competition.

Easiest way to make your first $100

One of the easiest ways to make your first $100 is through your email list. You just have to get at least 1oo to 300 people to your email list and then send an email pitch to them. Even any two of them buy your affiliate product (that gives $50 commission each), you can make your first $100.

How much time it takes?

Within 1 or 2 hours you can write an email newsletter to promote your affiliate products. Make sure to give them the benefits. If they find it useful and relevant to your blog, they will definitely buy!

So what are you looking for?

Start building an email list. Use GetResponse to build your email list. Offer something for free to double your email subscribers.

Write paid articles for others

If you have good enough writing skills, you can make money through freelance writing. And you don’t even require a lot of money and efforts to make money from freelance writing.

All you need is to create a page where you can easily attract people to hire your writing services and post some quality contents on your blogs regularly.

If they like your posts, they will definitely come and ask your services. You don’t need to charge $100 per article in the beginning, even if you take $10 per one article, writing just 10 articles can give your first $100. You can also offer a 10 article bulk package for $80 or $90 so that your clients might be interested in it.

Once you are getting good number of clients, you can charge more money. It all depends on your connections and the time you allocate to your writing services.

Get endorsement

Your next target should be how to get endorsement from authority sites or from probloggers who are already trusted and have a large followership. How do you get the endorsement of the probloggers?

1. Visit their blogs and leave quality/helpful comments. This would get their attention if the comments are non-spammy and they proffer solution to concerns raised by other commenters. Also try to be among the first three persons to leave a comment on each new post.

2. Offer quality, well-researched guest articles. The probloggers sometimes don’t have all the time in this world to update their own sites. If you offer them quality, well-researched informative guest posts, tendency is that they would accept it without minding whether you are new to blogging. Once your articles are published there, their readers begin to know you and visit your site.

3. Another way to get endorsement is to try and write a quality post for a news syndicating website. Once your offer is accepted and published, you are sure to get new readers trooping to your blog in their hundreds.

Use Fiverr to make your first $100 online

Another smart way to make money online is to use Fiverr. It’s a online marketing place and people always search for gigs to get what they want just for $5.

That means you are doing something (logo design, editing or writing an article) for $5, people will constantly look for these gigs on Fiverr. If they find interesting, you will get more gigs and more gigs means you can make more money online.

First start with something that you are good at. If you are really good at writing, offer your services for $5 and if possible showcase your authority so that more people would be interested in hiring your services. Once you get enough clients, you can also offer premium services and you can always upsell your way to make more money.

Start affiliate marketing

Now don’t rush into adding Google adsense because they would not give you as much. If you add adsense, be sure you are optimizing for high paying keywords, using longtail keywords. The best thing to do at this time is to add affiliate products in high demand. It all depends on your niche. So you need to choose your affiliate programmes based on the niche you have chosen.

For instance, if you are into blogging, choose affiliate programmes related to blogging and webhosting. You can choose hostgator, namecheap or bluehost hosting programmes and promote them by offering free wordpress blog set up for anyone who joins through your link.

You can also decide to promote affiliate programmes that have to do with plugins, wordpress premium themes, etc. You simply write a special post on them, add your link and make your promise to help with the set up and also offer free wordpress blog support. A lot of people are working on a lean budget. They would see this as an added advantage and swallow your bait. You are sure to make your first $100 on your blog in less than 2 months if this is well done.

Product reviews

You can also offer product reviews on your blog. Make sure you do a thorough research on the product before writing your reviews. Write on both the good qualities and the bad side of the products you are reviewing. A balanced and well researched review would make your blog visitors want to buy such products.

If you have an affiliate link to that product, you make money each time someone buys it through your link. You can also do a paid review in which case you are paid for writing an unbiased review on the product.

Create an eBook and sell it

Creating an eBook is not a rocket science. If you have enough knowledge related to your blogging topics, you can create a paid eBook no matter what niche you are in.

All you have to do is to focus on few unique things to cover. You can analyze your competition, check out top blogs in your industry and find out what products they are selling. So that you will get a better idea on what to sell.

If no one is selling any eBooks in your niche, then you start it. Who knows you can even make thousands of dollars only by selling eBooks if you have enough people attention (and great stuff).

Even if you put a value of $10 on your eBook, by selling just 10 eBooks (one book every week), you can make your first $100. Or you can also create and sell products like themes, or plugins if you are good at coding. All you have to do is to find out what you are good at and start selling them from your blogs.

Ask your friends to launch a WordPress site

By driving your friends to sign up at Bluehost, you will receive $65.00 per referral. Even if you convince at least two people to launch their websites using Bluehost, you will easily make your $100 and of course they will make you payments after 2 months (after a successful sale from your links).

  1. Bangal,
There are writers everywhere but not all are quality writers. Contrary to what you think, e-books are not as easy to write. If they were, we won’t be having a lot of people posting e-book writing gigs on Freelancer, Upwork, Fiverr, people per Hour, and the rest. What I actually meant is that you should look around your niche to see if others are selling e-books. for instance, you could be in the pets niche and everyone is writing quality content on how to take care of your pets. But, you can as well make money by adding the e-books on pets care to your blog.

It is easier for people to buy those e-books on your site after reading your blog contents than to start searching for them manually on other sites. This eventually helps to improve your income as more and more of your site visitors buy from you.

Like you rightly observed, it is easy to make money with freelancing. But it also requires using strategies that work. I did an e-book on How to Make Your First $1,000 on Freelancer.com Even With Limited Skills. You can get a copy to see how it can really help you make more money as a freelancer.

A lot of product review sites requires you to have huge traffic. But you can even affiliate marketing and review those affiliate products direct on your blog. A lot will accept you if your blog content is of high quality.

  3. Qasim, it’s good to hear that you are making some money, no matter how little. If you work consistently and improve on your current strategies, you are sure to make more money in the long run.
Longtail keywords are a great way to rank for keywords that are not too competitive. There are a lot of keywords you will never be able to rank for as a result of the competition; but with longtail keywords, you can still get targeted traffic from people searching for specific terms.

  4. orginaljun,
Sorry, I am responding to your post a bit late. Longtail keywords will help you write on the keyword that is either the exact way a searcher would search for a term on Google or close to it. For example, if you write on “Android phone” as a keyword, that would be too generalised and it won’t bring you targeted traffic. But if you write on “How to fix a broken Android phone screen”, you see that the keyword is longer but it addresses a particular problem which is a broken Android phone screen. Only people who have such problem would click on that longtail keyword to get to your blog and possibly take action.

    Other longtail keyword examples:
How to make a man sleep better with pain
How to make a beautiful woman fall in love with you
How to make more money with Google Adsense
How to monetize your blog without Google Adsense.

You can see that each longtail keyword solves a specific problem. You can go on and on with different ones.

  5. Hi Tom,
It’s unfortunate you going through such a harrowing experience. But to be realistic, you can never get any meaningful income from Adsense with just 50 – 100 visitors per day. If you want to make money with Adsense, then you need to drive traffic to your site seriously. You make money from Adsense in two ways – from visitors coming to your site and from the visitors clicking on ad links on the site.

Even if you wish to earn money from the other methods highlighted in this post, you still need a reasonable traffic, even though the traffic is not in thousands.

  6. Tom,
Good to see you here, and thanks for your comment.
To start with, driving traffic is in itself, a great and tasking job. If you can put much effort into driving traffic that would earn regular income on Google Adsnse, it would be a good idea. But from my experience, affiliate marketing has paid me more than Adsense. I tried Adsense on my blog for several months and I could hardly earn $100. But now I started a new affiliate review site without Adsense and have earned over $1,000 from just one affiliate site in one year.

If you can run the site with quality content and then add Google Adsense as your means of monetization, there’s no problem with that. You have to be sure that you are not violating the Adsense terms.

As for the e-book, it is not mandatory that you try all the methods I suggested. You can go with what you feel is good for you and leave the rest. You can even stick to just one and do it very well. You will still make money if you work hard and smart.
    Do have a lovely day.

Indeed, there is a lot of ways to get 100$ in few months. It took more time to get my first 100$ because when I started I didn’t new about the different ways. I was able to make more than 100$ now but I am still not able to reach 100$ a month.
Writing about long tail keywords is a great way to get money get higher blog traffic at the same time. I am not using it on my blog but I should start now.

This is the most coolest article I’ve read on Making Money Online. I think most of us haven’t really thought about these ideas combined.

I liked the freelancing point where it is much easier to earn quick money. I’ve do read Product Review sites do not work with blogs with less traffic.

Concluding here. Making Money out of keyword research is a little difficult.

  13. I doubt when you said, “If no one is selling any eBooks in your niche, then you start it.” Writing has become so easy and it is more easier (I should have only said easier, but just to emphasize I am saying this) to create eBooks these days. There are many tools that help us along. So, I am doubtful if there is any such niche that doesn’t have an eBook online anywhere.

    • Hi Bangal,
Thanks for your contribution. Like you rightly pointed out, there is hardly any niche without writers these days. However, some niches are not as saturated as others and some do not have enough high-quality writers. So one can take an advantage of that.
