The #1 purpose of increasing your search traffic is to increase your website sales.
If you are not making sales or income from your website traffic, no matter how much traffic you are getting, it’s all waste. Most people either struggle to increase their search traffic or sales.
Did you know the #1 reason most people fail to increase their traffic and income?
They are not using the long tail keywords.
Now, let’s think for a moment about what makes someone to buy from your site. What most people do when they want to buy something online? They use Google to find more information about the products they want to buy, right?
For instance, if someone is interested in buying an iPhone, they first search for “iPhone reviews” before buying them. Most people use even broader keywords like “iPhone reviews 2019”, “cheap iPhones to buy in Delhi” etc.
The broader the keywords are the more sales you can make from your sites. This is the reason why you need to start using long tail keywords. They not only increase your search traffic but more importantly your overall website sales.

Quick Note Before Starting the Long Tail Pro Tutorial: Recently, I wrote a detailed review of Long Tail Pro that any beginner can use to increase their website search traffic. So make sure to skim through the post to get a better idea about what it can offer you.
To get started with Long Tail Pro tutorial, you first need to create a project.
Once you create the project after entering your desired country (based on your target audience), click on “Create Project” to continue.
Filtering out keywords by search volume
Now, enter any long tail keyword phrase (with 3 or more keywords in it) and select the search volume between 100 to 1000. It is always a smart strategy to select the keywords that has less than 1000 monthly searches so you can easily rank well.
In our case, we used the keyword “ipad mini 2 review” (which has 4 keywords in it). Once you click “Generate Keywords” button, within seconds, you will get the full list of all the keyword phrases you can target.
You need to keep an eye on every keyword you want to target. Otherwise, you will end up finding and using wrong keywords that won’t give you results in the long run.
Make sure to choose the keywords below 1000 and you are good to go. Once you select a keyword that is perfect for your business, you can then click on that to find more details about it using Long Tail Pro.
In the above screenshot, Long Tail Pro is showing us all the details like Title and URL, page authority, DA, juice links etc. So after knowing this data, you can think about whether or not to target those keywords.
Here are few things that are present in Long Tail Pro tool which you must need to focus on.
Title and URL: This will list out all the top 10 search results titles and their URL’s. Most of the keywords that you want to target include their primary keywords on both their URL and titles. So make sure to add your main keywords in those two places if you want to get more exposure in search results.
Average keyword competitiveness: This is scale ranging from 0 to 100 (100 being the highest). I highly suggest you to focus on keywords that have KC (keyword competitiveness) below 40 so you can easily increase your search traffic without much efforts.
Page authority: I usually look at the page authority of the sites if I want to target certain keywords. If the page authority is higher, you will get higher search rankings easily. So increasing your page authority by building quality links is the key here.
Page links: These are how many links that a page acquired. The more links a page has the more it tends to rank higher in search results. Make sure to build quality links.
Domain authority: The higher the DA of a site the better it tends to rank in Google. Your domain authority depends on a lot of factors including backlinks, site quality, site age etc.
Finding low competitive keywords
Here are few tips you can take away from this Long Tail Pro tutorial to find low competitive keywords.
- Always use 3 or more keyword phrases when finding long tail keywords. That way you will be easily able to find lots of less competitive keywords.
- Make sure you are focusing on broad search terms like “iphones”, “best iphones” etc. You will NEVER rank in top 10 results without putting a lot of ad budget into it.
- Always aim for picking the keywords with the local search volume between 100 to 1000. Don’t go beyond 2000 monthly searches or it will be difficult for a new blog to rank well for those keywords.
Are you liking this Long Tail Pro tutorial? Then, why not find low competitive keywords with Long Tail Pro?
