Product Name: Media.net
Summary
Media.net is a contextual ad network from Yahoo and Bing Network. Contextual ads means if you have a website or blog around mobile phones, advertisements around mobile phones and their accessories will be served. Relevant ads mean more clicks and thus more money for you. So you should end up earning more money with your website traffic using this network.
Summary: Media.net is the 2nd largest Contextual Ads platform in the world which exclusively powers the Yahoo! Bing Ad Marketplace of advertisers globally.
Contextual Ads are those which are relevant to the content of the website. For instance, if a website is about travel, only those ads will be served which are related to travel; in case of a food blog the ads served will be related to food.
This makes all the difference because contextually relevant ads tend to get higher clicks which leads to higher revenue for the publisher.
With Media.net, publishers get access to over $6 billion worth of advertisers’ search demand. This demand is available to publishers only through Media.net.
A portion of this can make its way to your blog earnings if you use their ads.
Here are the other major reasons why you should give Media.net a shot right away:
- Contextually Relevant Ads
- Dedicated Account Manager
- Native Ads
- Display to Search (D2S) Ad format
- Mobile Responsive Ads
- Works well with other Ad Networks
6 Reasons to choose Media.net publishing platform:
Contextually Relevant Ads: If you are not making enough money from Ad networks such as AdSense, that’s probably because your ads are not relevant to the content you publish on your websites. If you observe top blogs that make money from these Ad networks , you will notice that their blogs have high quality content and highly contextually relevant ads as well. This is precisely where this network comes into picture.
Their ads are highly targeted and thus more contextually relevant as compared to other ad networks, thereby displaying the ads that your readers are more likely to click.
The chances of users clicking on ads which are relevant to the content they are consuming are much higher than them clicking on completely irrelevant ones. In my experience, I’ve seen that Media.net algorithms take about 2-4 weeks to fully optimise your ads based on the content you create. So, I would advise you to remain patient. Here’s an example of contextually relevant ads:
Dedicated Account Manager : Every publisher is assigned a dedicated account manager who constantly monitors your account, undertakes A/B testing with different ad spots, creates custom ad units on your request and proactively gives the best possible suggestions so as to drive higher revenue from the ads. The account manager can be reached very easily via mail. Their customer service can prove to be invaluable for both new and experienced bloggers.
Native Ads and custom sizes: I’ve come across so many people who’ve asked me about making money through ads that do not hamper user experience. Media.net to a great extent solves this issue by providing ‘Native Ads’. These ads blend in with the design and layout of the website, making the user experience a seamless one. The ad units can be customized to match the look and feel of the website. They have custom sizes too, that aren’t available in AdSense. So, you can actually create additional inventory and therefore, additional revenue. Here are some of the Ad units that Media.net provides:
- Display to Search(D2S) ad format: Media.net invented the D2S ad format. These are basically search ads on display ad inventory. How does that matter? It does, a great deal. Because what D2S does is display search ads that are bought by advertisers on a CPC model. This filter the user’s intent which leads to better targeting of ads and also higher revenues because advertisers pay more for clicks on ads where the intent of the user is absolutely clear versus CPM ads where they have no idea whether the ads will be engaged with or not. What it all comes down to in the end is more clicks and hence higher revenues.
- Mobile Responsive Ads: The number of people that use their mobiles to browse the internet is increasing day by day. According to a report published on Comscore, mobile now represents 65% off all digital media time. As per the comScore December’15 report – smartphone penetration between the age group of 18 to 35 was around 79% then, which means it is much higher now. If your website or your ads are not mobile responsive, you will end up losing a huge chunk of advertising revenue. Since, their ads are mobile responsive, these can help you earn incremental revenue through the mobile optimized ad units. You can start using mobile responsive ads by simply activating the mobile ads feature. With this feature you will also start earning from traffic that comes from your mobile.
- Works well with other ad networks: Yes, you don’t need to remove all other ad networks to use Media.net as it works well with all ad networks. Why choose & reduce when you can diversify your earnings and make the most of your blog. So for all of you who are skeptical about disturbing your current ad set up, don’t sweat. Media.net complements almost every major revenue strategy. So, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t try to make the most you can.
Payment Methods: It offers two payment platforms namely :
- PayPal
- Wire Transfer
- The minimum payout threshold is $100. The payment is made on a net 30 basis i.e if you earn $500 in May’17 you’ll get paid in Jun’17.
Signing up with Media net: Signing up is absolutely free. They take a maximum of 2 business days to asses your website so you don’t have to wait for weeks to know the status of your application. Sign up here and get an incremental 10% over your usual earning for the first 3 months.

Hi Anil,

Hi, i have a query can i add media.net and adsense both with blooger hosting with custom domain. Is That Possible, i have a blog on blogger.com with custom domain can i apply for both networks .
Thanks and Regards
Good article, After reading your article i just applied for Media.net and Just today I got approved with only a few visitors a day.
Thanks, am looking for best adsense alternative to monetize my blog without adsense. I can say media.net is better than adsense. Currently am getting low cpc in adsense. But media.net provides good rpm rates without any issues. I suggest to use media.net along with adsense to earn more with blogging. Cheers
I will look into Media.net in the future. I like if it will show contextual ads that are related to my topics (tea and self-publishing) for my new site and blog.
Great…!! that’s great advice media.net good work, I read and also saw your every post, nice artical very usefull your post Thank you so much for sharing this and the information provide.
Hi Anil,
Before I don’t know about media.net. For the first time, I heard about it.
Thanks
Can i withdraw media.net payment through Payoneer?
Just as Dan said. They lure you with matching offers and high RPM, then under report impressions and then once you switch to them the RPMs go way down. Then if you complain they suspend your account and keep your earnings. This is a scam company apparently based in India and not owned or affiliated with either Yahoo or Microsoft/Bing.
Thanks for such information buddy. Could you please tell me that It would work with blogger. Please reply soon.
Thanks for the info I finally got approval for media.net.
Media.net approval is very hard. I tried many times but they didn’t approve my website. I applied for google adsense with same website and I got approval in 2 days.
Hi Anil,
Great review on Media Net and to tell you the truth, I really didn’t know that much about them. I haven’t decided if I want to add ads to my blog or not.
However, it’s nice to know that there are great companies like this that are better than Adsense. It’s also nice to know that if I do decide to use Media Net, I don’t have to worry about using more than one ad network at the same time.
Right now, I am more focused on providing great content as my blog’s traffic still wouldn’t justify placing ads on it.
However, if I do decide to place ads on my site, I’ll definitely give Media Net a try.
Thanks for sharing, have a great day 🙂
Susan
Media.net approval is only possible only if you have alexa rank which less than 4 lacks. And us uk traffic also important to get approval
Thanks Anil,
For the nice review about media dot net. Recently I build a blog on the internet and try to use an affiliate or Google Adsense alternatives. Anf finally I got your post for a proper use. I hope that you will help me in future with the best idea of blogging.
Media net approval seems even harder than AdSense , do you have any good ad networks in mind which pays for CPM?
DO NOT USE media.net It is a scam. We have used it and it reports way less impressions than DFP’s serving of ads. The ones that got served, the RPM is only $0.09 or less. It is a total scam.
In addition, if you have earned $99 and then cancel your account, you can say goodbye to your $99. They will keep your $99 because you didn’t meet their payment threshold of $100. This is the ONLY ad network that will NOT give YOUR money back when you cancel your account. Avoid at all cost.
Hi, I faced a thing that Media.net starts ignoring you when you ask the right questions. They are not interested in right campaigns, unless you start earn more. And yes, they will pay you the 1st payment, but you’ll never receive another one.
Hi,
This the wonderful article. anyway I am using media.net ads on my blog. But it does not showing any image ads. Can you have any idea about this..
Thank you
media.net is the best adsense alternative. But not in all countries, you must have primary us and uk traffic for earn huge revenue here. In adsense am getting $3.8 per day, But in media.net am getting $0.70 to $1 only. Approval also takes too long
according to your post i added media.net to my website, i think it’s pretty cool
I’m publishing Media.net ads, it’s good alternative for Absence.
Thanks for sharing!
I think I should try media net.You always write something awesome, thanks for it.
Is it true that media net is good if your traffic is coming from us, uk and Canada, mostly my traffic is coming for the Philippines
Just try media.net if you have at least 50% traffic from the US/Canda. Otherwise better to leave it.
I was using adsense on webmasterbabble but got that dreaded email stating I was banned for invalid activity.
I never once clicked on my own ads as I don’t believe in defrauding people.
I wouldn’t want people defrauding me either.
I signed up for media.net and got approved and I have to say that before I was mad I got banned from adsense but now I’m glad.
My daily earnings are double what they were with adsense.
You forgot to mention how they determine RPM… I was earning daily for impressions for like the first week but now even though I’m getting impressions (most of my traffic comes from the US, CA and UK) I am not earning anything. My “account manager” seems to be ignoring this question by giving vague answers so i can’t sit here and say I am happy with them. Kinda pissed actually.
I like how you phrased “account manager” as I feel the same way about my “account manager”. Because of the company being based in India and the major time difference, he is never available and never fully answers a question.
Thanks for share informative post about media.net ,currently i am using revenuehit program ,so one question i want to ask you that can i use both revenuehit and media.net at the same time .
Before i don’t know about media.net.now i am knowing by nice review .I recommend media.net.
For the first time I heard about media.net.Thanks for nice review.
I didn’t hear about media.net. This alternative seems awesome as you mentioned above. Thanks for this post. Now I have theother alternative to make money.I as of late found Revenue Hits and it would seem that an incredible contender. I joined and was immediately reached by a supervisor to perceive how their promotion stage for distributors work and they have a huge amount of elements to profit
After Google Adsense, I recommend Media net as a best monetization alternates.
