Are you a blogger and searching for productivity tips? Are you working from home and want to stay productive? If yes, you’re in the right place.

When it comes to working online, there are a lot of things that will distract you from phone calls to emails to unwanted notifications from Facebook.

It’s a bless to work online because you will not only get more time to work on your favorite tasks without commuting. But organizing your day can be really hard if you’re working online.

Whether you’re working from home or blogging in your spare time, you need to make the most out of your time to succeed. We all know, how crowded the online is and it’s not easy to compete with others unless you spend more time on working towards your blogging goals.

If you want to be a successful blogger, you must know how to get things faster and better without any distraction. So how can you make the most out of your time? In this post, we’ll discuss few simple productivity tips for bloggers to stay organized and get things done faster.

Incredible productivity tips for bloggers

1. Unplug the Internet connection

One of the biggest time wasters in life is social media sites like Facebook and twitter. I know, these social media sites are essential to grow traffic and sales.

But make a note that, “technology is like a two edged sword”. If you don’t use social media right, it can only kill your precious time. Unplug the Internet connection while writing blog posts, this is a huge time saver as you don’t waste hours in browsing Facebook and twitter for useless reasons.

Make sure to research the data for your blog posts in a specific time and write down the notes, unplug the Internet and start writing your blog posts.

2. Use Pomodoro technique

Are you trying too hard to get things done? If yes, breaking your time into small tasks can be very effective.

Here’s where Pomodoro tool comes into handy. This is the only productivity tool I strongly recommend for bloggers to improve their efficiency. Here’s how this tool works.

You work for 25 minutes, then take break for five minutes. Start the Pomodoro tool and when you’re done working for 25 minutes, the tool rings. You can then take a 5 minute break.

Pro tip: To work efficiently by using Pomodoro tool, make sure to take a long break of 15 to 20 minutes after 4 to 5 Pomodoro cycles (that means after continuously working for 2 hours).

3. Use a standing desk

Recently many surveys concluded that, using standing desks can maximize your working efficiency. If you are working as a blogger or full-time online marketer, use standing desks to write your blog posts. This is a surefire way to not only increase your productivity as a blogger but your health (backache issues) can also be improved.

4. Create a daily routine

Do you know what differentiates successful people from others? They all set a daily routine. If you are working online, without having a routine, you will easily get lost in the unwanted tasks. So make sure to create and adopt the daily routine if you want to stay productive.

Here are few tips to create your own daily routine.

  • Don’t make big changes at a time. If you want to get up early, don’t aim at getting up 5 am (if you wake up at 8 am daily), try to get up 15 minutes before your usual time and maintain it for a week. Continue the same until you reach your goal.
  • Use Pomodoro technique while writing your posts or working online. And take breaks regularly to keep yourself fresh.
  • Create a to-do list for each and every day and prioritize your tasks.
  • Each night before going to bed, check whether you hit your daily targets. Also invest time for yourself on doing physical activities to stay fit.

5. Declutter your working place

Decluttering your space is one of the best productivity tips for bloggers who work from home. Are you surrounded with too much useless stuff? While working, it’s important to keep your working desk and space clean.

It not only increases your productivity but helps you organized. Remove all the unwanted stuff (like files, papers, books or any) from your desk and maintain minimalism. If possible, use small plants to keep yourself refreshed.

6. Create 3 MIT’s

If you are looking for one of the simple productivity hacks, create MIT’s (Most Important Task) before going to the bed. And schedule 3 MIT’s for the next day so that you can work on the top tasks.

And make sure to do your MIT’s first thing in the morning. If you put off them to later, you might never get the chance to work on your most important tasks for the day. So I highly recommend you to set 3 most important tasks for everyday and do them early in the day.

7. Use 2 minute rule

productivity tips

I know most bloggers are lazy at times and overcoming procrastination is one of the hardest things to accomplish. Here’s where 2 minute rule comes into place.

According to it, there are two simple parts you can perform to get things done

1st part: if a task takes less than 2 minutes, do it now

2nd part: when you start a new task or habit, it should take less than two minutes to do. I know you can’t get things done in just two minutes, but by working just for 2 minutes on any task you want to finish, your brain forces you to work on the same thing. If you want to find out more about 2-minute rule, read this great post by James Clear.

Final thoughts about productivity tips for bloggers

It’s not easy to get things done when you’re surrounded with too many distractions. While working online, make yourself detached from everything that distracts, kill the Facebook notifications, stop looking at your emails and keep your mobile in silent mode.

And when you are writing blog posts, it’s better to use Pomodoro technique, a standing desk and completely turn off your Internet for better results.
