Some started back in 2004 when blogging was barely a thing in India. Others launched in the last few years and grew FAST.

How Do Indian Bloggers Make Money?

Most people think bloggers only make money from ads. That’s just one source.

Here are the main ways Indian bloggers earn:

Affiliate marketing is the primary source of income for most bloggers. You recommend a product, someone buys it through your link, and you earn a commission. Bloggers like Anil Agarwal from BloggersPassion earn most of their income this way.

Display ads like Google AdSense or Mediavine pay you per page view. The more traffic your blog gets, the more you earn. Labnol and TheWindowsClub make lakhs every month from ads alone.

Sponsored posts are when brands pay you to write about their product. Entertainment blogs like MissMalini and Pinkvilla mostly earn from these deals.

Digital products like online courses, ebooks, and premium memberships are growing fast. GeeksForGeeks and SafalNiveshak both sell courses to their audience.

Consulting and freelancing are common, too. Many bloggers offer SEO consulting, financial advising, or coaching as a side income stream.

Most successful bloggers don’t rely on just one source. They mix 2 to 3 of these sources to build a stable income.

A Brief History of Blogging in India

Indian blogging started with one man, i.e., Amit Agarwal, who launched Labnol in 2004 and became India’s first full-time blogger.

Between 2008 and 2010, things started picking up, as bloggers like Shradha Sharma, Malini Agarwal, and Varun Krishnan started their blogs. Google AdSense made earning online real, and that changed everything.

By 2015, affiliate marketing took over. Bloggers realized that recommending products paid more than ads. That’s when blogs like BloggersPassion grew fast.

Now in 2026, Indian blogging looks completely different. AI tools help with research and writing. And niche blogs on topics like finance, programming, and cooking are getting more traffic than generic “make money online” blogs.

One thing has NOT changed: the bloggers who create helpful content consistently still make money.

What We Can Learn from These Indian Bloggers?

Every blogger on this list has one thing in common. They didn’t quit.

Amit Agarwal has been blogging since 2004. Anil Agarwal since 2010. That’s decades of consistent publishing. No shortcuts.

    lessons from indian bloggers

Here are three lessons worth remembering.

#1. Pick one niche and own it: Sandeep Jain focused only on programming. Dassana Amit focused only on vegetarian recipes. Anil Agarwal focused only on SEO and affiliate marketing. They didn’t try to cover everything. That focus is what made them successful.

#2. Be patient: None of these bloggers became successful in 6 months. Most took 3 to 5 years to build real traffic and income. If you’re just starting out, give yourself time.

#3. Help first, sell later: The blogs on this list give away massive value for FREE. That’s how they built trust. And trust is what turns readers into customers.

Start Following These Indian Blogs Today

You now have 15 of the best Indian blogs across tech, food, finance, travel, entertainment, and programming. Each one of them has years of FREE content.

Here’s what I’d suggest: pick 2 to 3 blogs from this list that match your interests. Subscribe to them. Read their content for 30 days. Study how they write, what topics they cover, and how they engage their readers.

And if you want to start your own blog? These 15 bloggers are the best teachers you’ll find. Everything they’ve learned is already on their blogs. For free.

Do you think we missed something good? Drop it in the comments, as we’re always looking for more. Got a question? Ask below.

Thanks man for your love..Ya, I understand that people want to read my blog with daily fresh articles but I think I can't do it since I'm just a kid and have to focus on various things.

Since we both are from India, you probably can understand that currently parents don't understand their child's and want them to focus on their studies and consider all the stuffs that we are doing as an useless thing. And same is my condition...A simple example I can give you right now to understand my problem that currently I'm attending coaching classes even when we are having our school summer vacations..It's all because of various useless thoughts that are still present in India society.

I was thinking during my annual exams that when I will be having my summer vacations, I will start updating my blog daily but that couldn't happen since my mom told me to start attending the coaching classes for my next year.

But Thanks again for adding me in the list.

    HI typhoon,

Me too really agrees with you. When we kids blogs, only time matters. My parents too always tells me to keep focusing on studies rather than blogging. I have joined summer coaching class too and for the next 2 years till completing +2, i won't have much free time.

    It's universal.

If you are studying then your parents will nag you and if you are married, then your spouse will nag you on this. Coz not everyone can handle the pressure of doing something new or something out of the league, which has been followed since long in generations.

But once you show what can be done, they'll all be standing right behind you to support you. It's just matter of time.

Dude, I'm so glad to find my name out here. Frankly, My blog is not worth for it till now.
I agree with Sushant.. We Indians has got specific Regulations to blog. I'm yet another example. People, Including my parents are not at all interested in "Blogging with Studies". This makes it quite difficult for Daily updates (that i did earlier). You can see the decrease of my posting frequency in these days.

However, You're blogging well in your own Passion (your title says)

    Keep going. Thanks

I have started before around 60 days and getting full support from my family and friends because I have given them a full presentation for future professional blogging due to increase in Indian internet users and ways to generate revenue online by the coming 5 years.

Done that presentation by collecting all the teen and young bloggers mostly from India (all mentioned above and some more) because parents take in another way if will take them to a foreign teen bloggers place.

I am learning day by day and getting some desired achievement every blogger needs, I am getting 90% Indian bloggers and that is helping me.

Hi Balaji, glad to know so much of details about few bloggers from the list, that shows that you are keenly following them. I know how difficult it is for most Indian students to convince their parents to spend time for blogging as most parents always look for safe side like conventional jobs. But once you show them that you're capable of making money from blogging, you can easily convince them. All the best.

That should be the spirit buddy. Make sure to be consistent, work really hard and learn every single day. The key here is to spy on your competitors to see what tactics they are using to create great content and driving more traffic and sales to their sites.

Hi, if you want to increase your search traffic, make sure to focus on two important things which are keyword research and link building. Find low competitive keywords so you can easily get higher rankings even with a new site. Also start building quality links by using various tactics like guest posting, blogger outreach and so on. You'll start getting more search traffic if you implement just these two.

I agree with Sushant.. We Indians has got specific Regulations to blog. I’m yet another example. People, Including my parents are not at all interested in “Blogging with Studies”. This makes it quite difficult for Daily updates (that i did earlier). You can see the decrease of my posting frequency in these days.
However, You’re blogging well in your own Passion (your title says)
    Keep going. Thanks
