We made a total revenue of over $160,000 in 2023 (compared to $220,000 in the previous year i.e. 2022). The reason for the revenue drop is majorly due to Semrush stopping recurring affiliate commissions to all its affiliate partners.

Also, received the rest of the $5K revenue from other sources directly into my bank account, which includes our eBook sales, ShareASale commission, direct advertisements, etc.

So, our overall revenue reached $160K, which was similar to the revenue of 2021.

Few things that prevented our traffic and sales (compared to 2022);

• We faced a significant revenue decline from February 2023 when Semrush stopped recurring affiliate commissions.
• ChatGPT’s arrival severely hampered our efforts to monetize our AI Tool content (such as Jasper affiliate), as people are using free options like ChatGPT over premium AI tools.
• Google released a ton of freaky core algorithm updates, which led to a noticeable drop in organic traffic year-over-year. There are many sites that lost nearly 50 to 90% of their traffic overnight! Fortunately, we worked A LOT to create the BEST content to survive those updates.

What Initiatives Did We Take In 2023?

Here are some of the things we did in 2023 to improve BloggersPassion.

• Content Quality: We’re putting A LOT of effort into quality and visual appeal for our blog content.
• Content Frequency: Our content library is growing! We published a whopping 190 new posts in 2023, bringing our total number of published blog posts to an impressive 690. In 2022, it was 500 posts. That’s 38% more content to help you with your blogging journey 🙂
• Revenue Milestone: We’ve surpassed $1 million in total revenue!

What are we going to focus on in 2024?

• Conversion rate optimization. In 2024, we will try to improve our blog’s overall conversion rate. That’s something we were not working on much.
• We want to create authority in the SEO and web hosting space. We want to expand our expertise to become your ultimate resource for building a HIGH-TRAFFIC website.
• We’ll be working on creating ONE crazy product this year. Although we’ve our own premium books on SEO, affiliate marketing, etc., we have yet to build a solid product.
• Above all, we want to diversify our traffic sources, including YouTube, Google, social media, etc.

Here are some of the things we did in 2021 to improve BloggersPassion.

• We launched a new premium eBook called Zero to 10K which was really successful. You can find all the BloggersPassion eBooks from here. The good part? We also used the AppSumo website to sell our eBooks which ultimately helped with more sales.
• We started creating contents around net worth of successful people across various industries and they’re working out well for us.
• We updated many existing blog posts on BloggersPassion with highly informative and updated content.
• We also conducted a HUGE $13,000 giveaway which was a BIG success and we offered freebies to 200 people.

• We created our products for the first time. We created 3 premium eBooks on topics like SEO and affiliate marketing. You can find all the BloggersPassion eBooks from here. The good part? We made solid sales from all of them.
• We launched three amazing FREE email courses on blogging, affiliate marketing, and SEO. You can find them all from here.
• We launched a Hindi YouTube channel to help beginners learn SEO, blogging, and affiliate marketing strategies in Hindi
• We started a new blog called MakeBlogging.com in September 2020
• Created special designs for important pages. For example, you can read our popular blogs post to get an idea.
• We also tried Facebook ads to build our email list. Also, we used Facebook ads to generate some sales to our paid eBooks.

• We improved our content marketing strategy, and we removed a ton of old blog posts that are mediocre (we redirected some of them, and most of them were either merged into similar posts or we updated with better quality). As a result, hundreds of blog posts were gone (of low quality).

• We started a micro niche site called BH Coupon Codes (later we turned it into another niche site which you’ll learn later in this post). This was still in the building stage and our primary focus for the niche site was to generate quality content and build quality links from other sites.

• We also held our first Giveaway on SEMrush worth $2500 this year successfully

One BIGGEST Lesson from 10+ Years of BloggersPassion Journey

We launched BloggersPassion in 2010. We already shared our blogging journey where we discussed a lot of things like how our website looked and what the initial year’s traffic was, how we’re monetizing our blog, and so on.

Here’s ONE biggest lesson we learned from our journey so far.

Until 2016, we were earning just around $10,000 every year.

As you can see above, before 2016, we made less than $10,000 yearly from BloggersPassion.

• In 2013, we made $9421
• In 2014, we made $9748
• In 2015, we made $9783

That means, even after 6 years of launching BloggersPassion, this blog generated only around $10K per year. 

Did we give up? NO!

So how things transformed all of a sudden? How did we go from making $10,000 annually to earning over $18,000 monthly within a few years?

It’s called “The Domino Effect.”

It’s the same reason Warren Buffett made 99% of his wealth after his 50th birthday. 

Exponential growth always looks smaller in the beginning. But if you consistently grow, you’ll see the Domino Effect.
