What Makes Ahrefs Great?

Just like SEMrush, Ahrefs also has a huge collection of SEO tools which you can use to boost your search results and overall website sales.

Currently Ahrefs is offering the following tools:

  • Site Explorer
  • Positions explorer
  • Content explorer
  • Position tracker
  • Domain comparison
  • Crawling reports
  • Ahrefs alerts

Ahrefs tool is mainly used for one purpose: to build quality backlinks and find unlimited link building opportunities. Ahrefs is considered as the BIGGEST and accurate database of live backlinks.

This tool crawls over 5 billion web pages every single day. And it is used by over 600,000 people worldwide for their SEO purposes.

If you are looking for a tool for backlink analysis and find lots of link building opportunities, no other SEO tool comes closer to Ahrefs. It has the most accurate data which will help you easily do backlink analysis.

Let’s now talk about few of their key features so you will know whether this tool is right for you or not.

Site explorer: This feature allows you to completely analyze the backlinks, traffic and keywords of any website URL you want be it your own or your competitors. It gives you a detailed analysis of all the backlinks that your desired domain.

It shows you all the backlink information that you need by also showing you how many referring domains and dofollow link a site has.

This tool includes the following 3 tools to give you a detailed site analysis of any domain.

  • Backlink Checker tool
  • Organic Traffic Research tool
  • Paid Traffic Research tool

Have a look at the following screenshot to know how the Site Explorer feature on Ahrefs tool looks like in general.

Site Explorer: Ahrefs

Did you see that? It gives you the detailed backlink analysis which you can use to find unlimited number of backlink opportunities to grow your search results and sales.

Content explorer: Using this feature you can discover the most popular content for any topic that you want. It shows you information about backlinks, organic traffic and social shares of any particular topic you want to know.

You may ask, why should I find the most popular content in my niche?

It doesn’t matter what niche you are in, by knowing the most popular content in your industry, you can easily figure out what kind of content to create to attract more backlinks and social shares.

Here’s where Ahrefs content explorer feature comes into play. For instance, if your topic is “email marketing” and want to find the most popular content around it, this is what the results you get.

content explorer

By seeing the above screenshot, you can easily understand that, this tool helps you easily analyze:

The number of backlinks of the topic you are interested in (along with the number of social shares and backlinks). This information is enough to find and create link worthy content in your niche.

Keyword explorer: One of the simplest ways to increase your overall search engine traffic is to do keyword research.

But finding keywords that are highly competitive in your industry is not going to work. You need to find only those keywords that are easier to rank for and at the same time they should have decent amount of search volume every month.

By analyzing what your competitors are ranking for, you can easily figure out a list of all the keyword ideas that can help you bring more traffic and sales.

Ahrefs keyword explorer helps you do just that. You can brainstorm potential keyword ideas to rank for using their tool. You can also easily check keyword difficulty score so you can filter out all the unwanted keywords.

Once you have a look at the following screenshot and you will know what I’m talking about.

keywords explorer: Ahrefs

See that? You can find all the relevant keywords for your primary keywords. You will also get all the information like keyword difficulty (KD) and monthly volume of those keywords so you will know which keywords to target to rank higher in Google search results.

You can filter your keyword search results by:

  • Keyword Difficulty
  • Monthly search volume
  • Cost Per Click
  • Number of search results
  • Number of words in a keyword

The above details are enough for you to come up with thousands of potential keyword ideas that you can use to grow your overall search engine traffic.

Crawl report: This will help you find and fix all the common SEO issues that your site has. You can run crawl reports whenever you want and you can easily identify if there are dead or broken links that are occurring on your site. You will also get site related issues information like (meta description, title tag errors etc).

All in all, Ahrefs is a great set of SEO tools combination that allows you to quickly increase your overall SEO.

What About the Pricing of Ahrefs?

Ahrefs is offering 4 pricing plans currently and they are listed below.

  2. John says:

Good detailed difference, but there must be a conclusion section where you should provide a recommendation of what you think is the best tool that worked out for you guys.

Anyways going through the comments looks like Semrush is the winner, but you guys must do a conclusion section of this tutorial in case someone just wants to skim and go right to the better choice.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Hi John, thanks for the feedback. I’d say go with SEMrush if you want extensive database (it has a ton of databases that provide you a lot of keywords and backlinks data when compared to Ahrefs) and we’re using SEMrush for a long time and also got a lot of better results.. That being said, Ahrefs is not a bad SEO tool either and both these tools have almost similar features at same pricing points. My suggestion is give a try to their free trials once and you’ll judge a tool better that way.

  3. Amit shah says:

It’s a very detailed guide about Ahref tool. I am using ahref for my competitor analysis and its very helpful tool. Thanks for sharing to know more about ahref here

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Glad to hear that you’re using Ahrefs for competitor analysis. Yes, it’s one of the best tools out there and you might also want to give a try to SEMrush once (as it covers even more countries and databases) and use our 14 day free trial to get started with it.

  4. Shaheer Farooq says:

Good detailed difference, but there must be a conclusion section where you should provide a recommendation of what you think is the best tool that worked out for you guys.

Anyways going through the comments looks like Semrush is the winner, but you guys must do a conclusion section of this tutorial in case someone just wants to skim and go right to the better choice.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

If you’ve gone through the whole post, we have clearly mentioned that we’re using SEMrush for a long time and also got a lot of better results with it (it means, we’re clearly mentioning that SEMrush can be a great choice for bloggers). But that being said, Ahrefs is not a bad tool either. In fact, both these tools have almost similar features with similar pricing plans. First, give a try to SEMrush with our free trial once and you’ll mostly end up using it.

  5. ADHD-Naturally says:

Excellent article. I just recently ordered semrush, but wasn’t sure if I should have purchased Ahrefs instead. Now I feel better about my purchase. Thanks for all the detailed information.

  6. Sarah Sheikh says:

Comparison is Pretty. I am using ahrefs from last 5 years now haven’t tried semrush try yet because can’t have two paid tool. I am thinking to switch from ahrefs to semrush.
Will it be a wise decision?

    • Alex says:

      You should do it

About 1 month ago i bought Ahrefs to check on my links. Now i am not the best or the worst at inline stuff, but i just could not use Ahrefs. Nothing was easy.

I cancelled my account and i joined Semrush. A pleasure to fisaviw bad links and find issues about your website

      Thank uou

  7. pinoy libangan says:

Thanks for sharing this comparison. I like ahref for backlinks and semrush for keyword difficulty

  8. jot cheema says:

    hello anil ,

ahrefs crawl backlinks fast than semrush, and now ahrefs added many new features like internal link checker Which makes it better than semrush, Initially I used semrush but when I used ahrefs, I liked ahrefs more. so my review, ahrefs is amazing seo tool than compared to semrush, and for keyword research keyword finder is also one of the best tool i hope you also will write about keyword finder. And you wrote this article with full information about both tool.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Hi Anil, both are great SEO tools I would say because I’ve been using both of them for a long time now. SEMrush offers even more incredible features and their databases are even bigger and regularly get updated when compared to Ahrefs. But as you said, Ahrefs is equally good and I really like their keyword analysis data to be precise when compared to any other tool.

  9. Khai Di says:

Ahrefs has a lot of great features. But I only know how to check backlink and check for rival T.T many indicators I really don’t understand

  10. Dave says:

Great comparison, But I am the fan of semrush tool as it offer wide variety of features. It help me to get the competitors keyword data in no time.

  11. Fouzia says:

Semrush is very superb platform with purity, I personally experienced with SEMrush. Especially it shows genuine and quality base results which becomes a good source of user trust. According to me its good.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

That’s so true. SEMrush is one of the best SEO tools out there which you can use for doing keyword research, site audits, backlink analysis and what not? It’s definitely the most comprehensive SEO toolkit and there’s no wonder why over 3 million people around the world are using it.

  12. John says:

Personally I am using SEMrush right now and I am much satisfied with this tool but sometimes get irritated because unable to filter backlinks from unique domain perspective. Also, heard much about Ahrefs regarding their awesome features. Also read some views here in this discussion. I think I must try it. What you say Anil?

  13. Sahil Kumar says:

Thanks for the article, really gives some clear insights.I am currently testing out Ahref’s and have tested Moz and Semrush in the past as well. In my opinion Ahref’s UI is the best and clearest. I will have to test Moz and Semrush again i am afraid to be sure which one to start using. Have been using SE Ranking for rank tracking mostly but have noticed rank positions are not accurate most times.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

That’s so true. There are two things I really love about Ahrefs which is it’s extremely easy to use because of its clean interface and you can easily do any SEO related task include competitor research to backlink analysis to keyword research within minutes. It also gives you accurate data when compared to other tools.

  14. Elan says:

Probably SEMRush is pretty awesome according to my keyword research experience.

  15. Kim says:

Certainly a good article on SEMRush. I personally like Ahrefs because of its familiar user interface. Thanks for posting mate.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Hi Kim, I’ve been using both the tools and it’s true that both tools offer exceptional features ranging from keyword research to competitors analysis and so on. Ahrefs keyword metric data is really accurate but SEMrush is the most comprehensive tool where you can also do things like site audit to find and fix your site issues.

  16. keo chà ron magicpro says:

  17. Chester Loke says:

    Hi Anil,

    Thanks for sharing. 🙂

I prefer semrush, but sometimes I spend more time on the ahref tool, which also a useful tool for bloggers, thank you for sharing

    Thank you

  20. Allan says:

Appreciate you taking the time to right this post! I’ve heard it’s beneficial to have both as ahrefs is great for backlink building and semrush is better for other things like competitor analysis. Do you feel this is accurate?

  21. Glory Pachnanda says:

I am also confused to determine which one is better ahref or semrush. Both tools have approximate same qualities. According to cost semrush is a little bit cheaper than ahref.

  22. Nikul says:

Very helpful blog. Thanks for sharing important details which distinguish proper difference between ahref and semrush. Thanks indeed.

  23. Sawai Singh says:

very good comparison between ahrefs and semrush. I tried to use Semrush for a few days, but I found it easier to use ahrefs instead of semrush interface.

  24. John says:

I tried for free trial on Semrush and I was asked to pay just $1 which I paid and I was signed up successfully. Next day it was again showing me that I am not a pro member. Any body faced such type of issue?

  26. job by ati says:

    hi Anil
thx for sharin gyour insights 2018, in my eyes arhefs is way more effectiver than semrush.
in 2015 /2016 or afew years back semrush had laregst DB of links , keywords or simply put scraped Data.

Ahref, i love teh most as it is teh most accurate keyword analysis tool, it is fast and provide you with valuable Data , so based on it you acn define your own content staretyg, without propoer planning, and Atcion plan chanecs are the data you download from arefs, would only save on your drive . Define an Action plan and use data in your inbound marketing asap you acn, it is teh only way to succeed. Best of luck

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Yes, recently Ahrefs is becoming more popular when compared to SEMrush for a lot of reasons. Ahrefs is providing accurate data around keywords so you can easily grab the latest topics with low volume to rank higher. Thanks for the comment.

  27. The Next Big tHing says:

I say we should buy both SEMRUSH and AHREFS. I saw SEMRUSH as most reliable tools for Website audit and on page analysis and Keyword Research. But for backlink analysis, I don’t this it gives accurate data!

As for AHREFS Best for backlink analysis. Yet too pricey to buy. I think.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

You don’t really need access to both the tools as either Ahrefs or SEMrush is enough. Just make sure to give a try to both of their free trials and see their features, work on their tools so you’ll know the tools even better.

  28. Vijay Singh says:

Nice article about Semrush vs ahrefs.

I am using ahref and this is best.

  29. Bang Bao Gia says:

I have not used SEMrush ever so unclear about this tool. But I usually use Ahrefs. I find that Ahrefs display keyword search results (volume) completely different from Webmaster. Many keywords I find up to 4000 volume. But in fact it is only 2000 volume. Let’s keep this in mind!

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Ahrefs display keyword search results (volume) completely different from Webmaster and glad to know that you’re able to find up to 4000 volume. I know both of these tools are great and lately hearing great things around Ahrefs, so yea, you can go for it blindly.

  30. Storefortech says:

Great review. I have used both of them. For Ahref, i used for backlinks and SEMrush for onpage SEO and keywords.!

  31. HEALTHY and FITNESS says:

I find serush and ahrefs are giving two different reports when I searched for backlink for the same website url. I don’t know why this is happening. I like the elegant pattern of reporting of ahrefs. Thank you for your nice comparative study.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Both SEMrush and Ahrefs have their own databases and they both have their own set of crawling and systems in place which is the reason why you’ll be getting two different reports. But both the tools offer you almost accurate data around the keywords you’re targeting.

  32. Jasmeet says:

I personally like KW finder comes handy with Keyword research of competitor.
kindly write a comprehensive guide on it.

  33. ranjot singh says:

great article, I like Ahrefs more than semrush. I think that the keyword volume is not accurate in semrush but it seems right in ahrefs. Thanks for sharing articles , With the help of this article, I got to know very well about both of them. 🙂

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Hi Ranjot, excellent point. I’ve used both of these tools and found out that Ahrefs keyword data is much more accurate when compared to SEMrush. The only thing that makes SEMrush unique is, it gives you access to a wide range of SEO tools that you can use to do everything from keyword research to competitor analysis and so on.

  34. Adam says:

I think that ahrefs has a lot of professional tools from keyword research to competitive analysis etc. I like it more than SEMrush.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

That’s glad to hear. Lately I’m also hearing that Ahrefs is becoming a better SEO option when compared to SEMrush. Did you give a try to SEMrush?

  35. Shehryar says:

Used to love SEMrush! But since the last few updates, SEMrush has become worst. Just check any site and you’ll see that data isn’t updated from the last 5-6 days, I have registered a complaint today.

They’ll keep asking you to upgrade your plan, I am currently on GURU package and while using their Keyword difficulty tool. After a few searches, they blocked it and kept asking me to upgrade my subscription to Business.

I am looking to move to! Will be applying for a refund soon! Wish me luck with the refunds thanks.

  36. Patoksatakilya says:

I’ve been using Semrush for over two years now and just subscribed with ahrefs. The difference I think is that Semrush is more user-friendly and its site audit is more comprehensive. Thanks for this great article.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Even we’re using SEMrush for more than 3 years and extremely happy with the product and all the features that it offers. The great thing is that you can easily track all your website related things from the dashboard as you said, it’s really easy to use than Ahrefs.

  37. usman says:

Wow…you don’t know how long i’ve been confused which tool is best semrush or ahrefs. Finally, I come across this article and it has heaps and heaps of great ways to understand the difference in both tools. Thanks for the awesome resource!
one more thing that ahrefs and semrush tools both are very expensive. Can you please tell us cheap tools which works great like ahrefs and semrush.
    Thanks for the awesome resource!

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Hi Usman, it’s very common to get pick the best SEO tool because we’ve hundreds of tools at our disposal. Hopefully you might have found the right one among them. But if you’re still looking for cheaper alternatives, I’d recommend you to give a try to tools like LSI Graph, Ubersuggest (free), KW Finder and so on.

  38. Chris Vasey says:

Thank you for this article. I have been up in the air about choosing between these two. Seems like through reading most of the reviews that ahrefs has the best banklink content. Trying the trials this month.

  39. Marc Hernandez says:

Good write up. Thanks for sharing a thorough review of these two great tools. We’ve used SEMrush for years and it keeps getting better.

  40. Marston Gould says:

Its interesting that you overlooked Ahrefs site audit tool. Unlike SEMRush which limits you to 20,000 URLs, Ahrefs can crawl very large websites. Their data explorer is by far the best in the business. SEMRush gives you a list of URLs with issues they want to identify. But no option to customize. Ahrefs, much easier to use and powerful Data Explorer are very powerful indeed.

  41. Akshya Nagar says:

Personally, I am using Ahref from past 1 year. (Via Flikover) After reading this impressive article, I think I should try SEMrush for long tail keywords.

  42. Jumedeen khan says:

My favorite is SemRush, I tried Ahrefs too, but I think that Semrush is more user-friendly.

  43. Gautam says:

    Hi Anilji,

I am a new blogger and want to subscribe to an SEO tool but is getting highly confused which one to buy. I can not afford both the tools. Can you please suggest which one to go for? My main problem now is getting quality backlinks from high DA sites. Please suggest. Thanking you in anticipation for a quick reply.

  44. Adam says:

I like ahrefs more than SEMrush

  45. Anil Agarwal says:

You need to register before trying SEMrush 14 days free trial (Their pro version)

  46. Andrés Aguado says:

Hi Anil, a fantastic post. I would like to know your opinion since in my case I do not have the budget to keep two tools at the same time. I currently use semrush since there are things that I like a lot but I have doubts about the speed of the backlink audit tool. Recently I have encountered a problem in which semrush has not detected backlinks that were potentially dangerous to my website and this has hurt me. This part worries me a little because I’ve already seen the ears of the wolf. On the price-quality ratio of the two tools, would you continue with semrush or would you go to ahrefs? Thank you very much!

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Andrés, I would continue using SEMrush. For keeping track of backlinks of your own website, you can also start using the data which is available in Google Search Console. Google make decision about ranking of a website based on the data we see in Google Search Console.

SEMrush & Ahrefs are really useful when we need to keep a check on our competitor backlinks.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Hi Andres, sad to know that you’ve not discovered few toxic links using SEMrush. How did you find those toxic links? Have you used any other tool to find them? Also you might want to get in touch with the SEMrush support team and let them know about this issue, so they’ll look into it. But if you still are not comfortable with it, you might want to give a try to Ahrefs for a month or two to really find out the best one among them. I’d suggest you give a try to Ahrefs for some time to see if it’s the right fit for you.

  47. Varun says:

Great Comparison! Really very hard to choose the one. One can try both of them and choose the best suites to them.

  48. Hubert says:

This is a great comparaison and helped me deciding. To me the SEMRush UX is much better but i don’t think it offers as much features or as much quality and quantity of results for specific niche than Ahrefs.

  49. Shiva Mani says:

Ahrefs is love ? in case of finding backlinks of competitors.

  50. Kundan Maurya says:

Hey, I was a little bit confused that which SEO tool should I use. Then I google and find this article. Your article is really great and now I got my answer and going to buy SEMrush. Thanks 🙂

  51. vaishali says:

I prefer semrush this more effective and best part I like is a competitor analysis.

  52. Mukeshwar Singh says:

    Hey Anil,
I really love your article and feel blessed seeing it at number 1 in Google. But still, I have an essential question which I want you to answer
I had heard from SEO-Experts that Ahrefs is good for Backlinks building, but SEMrush is excellent when it comes to Site Audit and competitor analysis!
Do you think it is true? Because I had heard it from numbers of experts… Waiting for your answer

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Mukeshwar, that’s true. Nothing comes closer to Ahrefs when it comes to data around backlinks. But SEMrush is really good at Site Audit, Keyword Research and Competitor analysis. But before making the final decision, I would suggest you to give a try to trial versions of both the SEO tools.

  53. subin babu says:

Hello Anil, I personally prefer Ahrefs because am using this tool for last 5 months, due to this tool being able to rank my 2 other blogs on google, anyway thanks for sharing!

  54. Harshwardhan Singh says:

I use both, semrush for keyword research and for keeping a track of the rankings. Ahrefs has a better database of links. If I were to use just one, I’d go for semrush, it’s more of
    an all in one tool.

  55. justin says:

Semrush Is better then according to me because its give free access as compare to ahref… and i am using it

  56. Nhom mua says:

I’ve been using Moz for all my projects but I will definitely try out some of the other tools you mentioned.
In the past, I was using mostly free tools but I strongly believe that committing to one paid tool that overall does what is promises is far better. Having said that, no one tool is ideal for all purposes as you outline in your post!

I will be looking forwards to your new blog posts! Thank you very much for putting the time and effort to help us!

  57. Lisa Smith says:

I’ve personally used both of them, They both are good but what I think is that Ahrefs is rich-featured as compared to semrush, Ahrefs is an all in one tool for SEO.

  58. John Doji says:

In my opinion, Ahrefs is way more better than semrush on both updation And Detailed analysis

  59. Pawan Negi says:

I am still confused is there are anyone who use both of these tools. Tell me which one it the best.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

      Hi Pawan

I have used both of the SEO tools in person. I would prefer Ahrefs in case I need detailed data around backlinks, even though SEMrush also has a big backlinks database. But I prefer SEMrush for overall SEO related activities. If I have to purchase only one of them, I would surely go with SEMrush.

  60. Mughal says:

    Amazing Review.
But I think ahrefs is more powerful in crawling web pages. Ahrefs is just amazing.

  61. Carry jhon says:

Without Ahrefs and Semrush you can’t analyze your Competitor.

  62. Hiren Tanna says:

Great comparison buddy, but still confused as both of them have almost similar features.

  63. Tech2Hack says:

Thanks a lot Anil for this helpful comparison, I am using SEMrush for over a month an it’s quite satisfying… 😉

  64. Fotografii Nunta says:

I was ussing Ahrefs. But now I will take the trial from SEMRUSH. Let’s see

  65. ghulam says:

great review, I prefer semrush over ahref and semrush is my personal favorite.

  66. zack says:

its nice post i think Semrush is better one as compare to Ahref because is gives some feature free ….

  67. Steve says:

I personally like Ahref, comes handy with Keyword research of competitor.

  68. Roshan Singh says:

Nice article and very very thanks for the 14 Days free trial of Semrush. I heard of these tools but never used any of them due to their subscription charges and going to use this whose credit goes to your free trail. So, thanks again Anil.

  69. vaibhav patel says:

Great information thanks for sharing this article on Thanks for your valuable post… To be really honest to you… ahrefs works perfectly fine for me…

  70. Rajinder Verma says:

Thanks for your valuable post… To be really honest to you… ahrefs works perfectly fine for me… Have some trouble with Semrush… like it takes little more spam of time to spy competitor website!

  71. Paolo Inzone says:

Great article. Before reading this I was practically sold on SEMrush. However, after reading this article and the comments from other readers, I’m realizing I shouldn’t be so quick to pull the trigger and that Ahrefs may in fact be what I’m looking for. I will most likely do the trial period for both before deciding, but this article definitely opened my eyes to Ahrefs possibly being my best option (instead of SEMrush). Thanks for taking the time to write this article. Great work.

  72. Vikas says:

Ahref is no doubt one of the best tool for backlink analysis..i have never tried semrush but happy with ahref..nice article and the way you have done comparison is really great..thanka

  73. sulham syahid says:

Hi, thank you for your sharing, I am a new comer. I would like to use both of them first then I will decide which one is the one for me.

  74. suwash singh says:

Excellent review, I prefer ahrefs over semrush because it crawls webpages more faster than semrush.Ahrefs is my personal favorite.Great Post But I love Ahrefs Never use semrush but will try now

  75. Zesshan says:

Great Post But I love Ahrefs 🙂 Never use semrush but will try now 😀
    Thanks 🙂

  76. Vic says:

I thought I was the only one confused between these two tools. I wasn’t sure which SEO tools to use and whether I should prioritize Ahrefs over Semrush or the other way around. I know they have different features. When it comes to keyword research, Semrush is better, but for backlink analysis, it’s Ahrefs. This comparison helped me decide which one to get. Thanks for the article! The comments above also helped me in my decision.

  77. Jitender says:

Excellent review, I prefer ahrefs over semrush because it crawls webpages more faster than semrush.Ahrefs is my personal favorite.

  78. Saurabh says:

Great comparison thanks. Can you please also provide comparison of Seoprofiler.

  79. Warsidi says:

It’s an excellent comparison. As a free user, I use both of them. In combination with Google Keyword Planner. the insights are amazing. In my opinion, however, Ahrefs is still the best among the two.

  80. Johan says:

Thanks for a great article. I use both in trial right now. Have not decided yet which one I should pick.
I get the feeling that the SEMRush data isn’t always correct. I know I have backlinks – Ahrefs shows that I have backlinks- but SEMRush can not find any backlinks. May be me, may be them… just a feeling. 😉

  81. Jasa Web semarang says:

Both semrush and ahrefs have great values and features. But I think semrush are more powerful because the data are real time and accurate.

    Just my opinion.

  82. ajeet says:

Semrush looks best for me.Good for finding keywords your competitor is ranking for…

  83. Eric Ritter says:

Great comparison of the two tools. Personally, I’m still on the fence and testing out both SEO tools.

  84. Tim says:

SEMrush still offers free trials without credit cards – you need to contact them to get set up

  85. Rich Coffman says:

I have a subscription to both and have used many other SEO platforms. Ahrefs has the most extensive backlink index. It is Stronger than SEM’s data and Moz’s OSE.

  86. Sona says:

Organic research tool of Ahrefs doesn’t really work great, but recently i saw some changes, so hopefully issues are fixed. But for organic traffic SimilarWeb id good, sometimes I cannot afford so I use SEMrush :D.
Ahrefs as a backlink checker is excellent. Both are great tools

  87. Rathnareddy says:

i read many article on different website about semrush vs ahrefs but i am not get clear clarity on after reading your post i get some clarity i like your article writing style thank you

  88. Jennish says:

It depends on What exactly do you want to manage. If you are serious about SEO, you might have to use any one of those or a few in combination. There are other SEO tools as well that you may want to check and compare – SEOsuite, SEOprofiler, WebCEO to name a few.

  89. Rudra Ramya Sree says:

    Hi Anil.
Thanks for sharing information on Review on Semrush and Ahref .both tools are very important for blogger for better blog analysis to improve blog performance in search engine.

  90. tejas says:

great comparison for all who are thinking either to use ahref or semrush. really helpful article

  91. Rajender Kumar says:

    SEMrush is very effective………………….

  92. Aroos says:

    Great comparison. Thanks 🙂

Semrush (View More) now requires subscription although a few weeks ago it used to be free.

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Aroos you can use link to try SEMrush Pro version valued at $47 free of cost for the next 14 days.

      • naveen says:

the CPC for a particular keyword shows different values. for example, for–

best web hosting for seo—- semrush shows cpc as $0 whereas ahref shows $35

so now which one to choose thanks

        • Anil Agarwal says:

Hi Naveen, that’s what happens with most of the SEO tools. You simply can’t trust one SEO tool but when it comes to keyword data, make sure to get information from as many tools as possible. That’s how you can get an idea of metrics like CPC, search volume etc. I personally use both SEMrush, Ahrefs for such things.
