Start by typing a keyword into the search box in SpyFu’s keyword tool. Make sure to choose a country where your target audience is mostly from.

The tool will instantly generate a huge list of keyword suggestions. 

As you can see above, SpyFu shows me a list of related keywords and questions I can target with my content.

I’ll also find my chosen keyword’s estimated monthly search volume and clicks.

If I scroll down a bit, I’ll find keywords that my competitors rank for in search results and that advertisers bid on in ads.

This data can help me understand what keywords are valuable and how much competition there is.

This tool also shows me a Mobile vs Desktop chart, which can help me identify which device drives more traffic and conversions for my target keywords.

When I use SpyFu for keyword research, I’ve found it doesn’t cover extremely specific or less competitive keywords as much as other tools. This is because of the lesser keyword database (7 billion available in SpyFu).

Rank tracking is essential for every website. It helps me see how well my website performs in Google search results. By tracking my keyword rankings over time, I can identify what type of content is working well so I can create more of it.

It offers a unique feature called “Ranking History” that allows me to monitor the organic rankings of my website and my competitors’ websites over a selected time frame.

It offers data in a Venn diagram, where I’ll discover;

As you can see above, the SEO Kombat tool gives me four keyword categories:

• Core Keywords: These are the search terms that all of the compared domains currently rank for.
• All Keywords: This category includes search terms that any domain is targeting.
• Questions: This section highlights search queries related to any of the domains.
• Missing Keywords: These are the keywords my competitors are targeting, but my domain isn’t.

If I hover mouse over a category, it highlights sections of the diagram. This will show me where keywords overlap between different domains. 

For example, hovering over the “Missing Keywords” category will show me all the keywords the competitors rank on but not my website.
