SE Ranking Review (2026): My Experience – Is It Worth It

I am a SE Ranking user and have been using the platform for 6 months. I switched to it because it offered more value for fewer charges.

But should you really switch to SE Ranking? This is what I am gonna answer in this review. 

Therefore, today I will also explain why one should consider SE Ranking over costly SEO tools.

SE Ranking is an excellent choice for SEO beginners who might not have the budget for premium tools like Semrush or Ahrefs.

Switching to SE Ranking delivers a significant benefit because pricing is a major concern for me. Here, the pricing is low ($103/month), but the number of tools I get is high-end, and you cannot get this level of tools at this price point with other SEO tools. 

The only major consideration for me is the database. It is big (5.4 B Keywords, 2.7 T Links), but not enormous at this stage, and it continues to grow.

SE Tools covered all core tools: AI Visibility Tracking, Rank Tracking, Keyword Research, SERP Analysis, Competitor Analysis, Backlink Research, and Site Audit. After using them, I found their capabilities are advanced, and the user interface is easy as well.

You can switch to SE Ranking if you are a new user and want to save money. The plans here are fair for all kinds. However, avoid it if you need an SEO tool that displays data from multiple search engines.

SE Ranking Keyword Research System is Powerful, But Shows a Little Less Data

I still remember the first time I opened SE Ranking’s keyword research tool. With its sleek interface and an extensive database of 5.6 billion+ keywords, I was excited to dive in. But as I explored deeper, I found both impressive strengths and a few noticeable gaps.

The ease of access was the first thing that stood out. The keyword research tool sits right in the top sidebar. So there is no hunting around.

Once inside, I could switch between 90+ countries effortlessly, making international research simple.

The overview report felt intuitive yet packed with insights. When I searched for “SEO tool,” I got:

• Keyword difficulty with a real-time update option
• Search volume trends from the past year based on different countries
• CPC data across multiple countries
• Search Intent
• Top 5 related & question-based keywords
• A quick SERP preview to analyze competitors at a glance
• Ad campaign insights & ranking dynamics
• More

Another highlight? The “Keyword Suggestions” tool.

It’s clean, easy to navigate, and packed with filters. I could sort keywords by volume, difficulty, search intent, or even use an advanced word count filter to pull long-tail keywords.

Although separate SERP analysis is possible, if you want to have a quick look at the ranking competitors for the keyword then it is possible through the interface.

I know there is no SEO tool that shows 100% accurate search volume accuracy of the keyword.

But I guess the SE Ranking search volume is pretty accurate. I have compared it with other advanced SEO tools and found results that are pretty much the same.

I also liked the Keyword Manager, which let me save keywords and track their performance over time. Plus, SE Ranking’s Database Expansion feature caught my eye—it lets users request missing keyword data, which SE Ranking fetches within a month.

However, as I compared SE Ranking to other top SEO tools, I noticed that while it delivers high search volume accuracy, it suggests 20-30% fewer keywords than some competitors. Countries like the USA, UK, and India have richer data, but in other regions, suggestions can feel limited.

Another downside? PPC keyword research isn’t supported. And while SE Ranking offers auto-suggested keywords, they come at an extra cost, unlike other tools that provide them for free. Keyword clustering also costs an extra $0.001 per query, which was a bit disappointing.

I appreciate how SE Ranking can display keyword data from over 90 countries. The advanced filters, comprehensive overview report, various types of keywords (questions, long-tail, related, etc.), advanced metrics (Search Intent, SERP features, Ads history), and bulk research features have left a strong impression on me.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. But if you need an exhaustive keyword list or PPC insights, you might need a secondary tool.

SERP Analysis: A Powerful One Compared to Others

I still remember the first time I ran a SERP analysis on SE Ranking, it wasn’t just another list of competitors, but a deep dive into their SEO strategies. If you’re serious about outranking your rivals, this tool is a game-changer.

At first glance, SE Ranking provides all the essential competitor metrics:

• Domain Trust (DT) & Page Trust (PT) (similar to DA & PA)
• Backlinks & referring domains for ranking pages

But what really impressed me? Their Organic SERP History feature. Unlike most tools that just show who ranks where, SE Ranking lets you track ranking movements over time.

With Google’s constant updates, rankings fluctuate like crazy. I use this feature to spot rising competitors, analyze their SEO tactics, and tweak my own strategy to stay ahead. 

It’s like having a time machine for SERPs—something I haven’t seen in other SEO tools.

If you want more than just surface-level competitor insights, SE Ranking’s SERP analysis delivers in a big way.

Competitor Analysis is Detailed But Should Have an “Export” Option

I was analyzing a competitor’s SEO strategy, trying to figure out why their traffic was growing while mine was stagnant. I needed real data—not just assumptions.

So I turned to SE Ranking’s Competitor Analysis tool. It promised to uncover crucial insights, and for the most part, it delivered.

Unlike some SEO tools that only give you a 1 year of competitor data, SE Ranking lets you dig into historical data. I could see how my competitors grew (or tanked) over time—a huge plus.

Their Competitive Research Overview report is another winner. It’s clean, well-organized, and packed with insights:

• Traffic breakdown by country
• Graph-based trends for traffic, keywords, and backlinks
• Keyword ranking distribution (what’s improving vs. what’s slipping)
• Top organic & paid competitors
• Competitor’s best-performing pages

Just when I thought I had everything I needed, I hit a roadblock. There is no “Export to PDF” option. I wanted to share my findings with my team, but… nope. No easy way to export the data.

And we can’t ignore the fact…. That SE Ranking doesn’t have the same massive keyword and link database as giants like Ahrefs or Semrush.

The overview report doesn’t show recent backlinks; you have to use the backlink analysis tool separately. So switching tabs is a headache.

And yes, Competitor comparison maxes out at three domains. I was hoping to analyze five competitors at once for a broader perspective, but the tool capped me at three.

Anyway, the SE Ranking competitor report gives you everything from keyword gaps to traffic sources, making competitive SEO strategy a whole lot easier. If they add an export feature and expand comparisons, it’ll be near perfect.

You need to know, right now, how your keywords are performing. Not next week, not next month—today. That’s the feeling I had before I found SE Ranking.

I realized that most premium SEO tools, like Ahrefs, only update rankings weekly or even monthly.

But SE Ranking doesn’t have such restrictions.

SE Ranking offers daily updates for both my keywords and my competitors’, which is rare at this price point.

I get fresh data every day, plus the option to refresh up to 200 keywords manually for even more real-time insights.

The “Summary” tab gives me a quick snapshot of my rankings, covering:

I also appreciate the visual flowchart, which shows ranking changes over time in an easy-to-digest format. Plus, exporting data to CSV or Excel is simple, making it easy to organize reports.

The only thing that took me a while to get used to? The multiple tabs.

SE Ranking organizes rank tracking across different sections, which can feel overwhelming at first. But once I got familiar with the layout, I found the “Detailed” tab to be the most useful for in-depth analysis.

Accessing competitors’ rankings for the same keywords we have predefined also seems easy to me. All you have to do is add competitors once, and then SE Ranking will track their ranking as well.

Overall, if your requirement is a dedicated SEO rank-tracking tool, look no further than SE Ranking. At least they have expertise in this particular segment.

SE Ranking Backlinks System

Backlinks are the backbone of SEO, so I always pay close attention to how an SEO tool handles them. 

When I tested SE Ranking’s backlink system, I found a mix of useful features and a few areas for improvement.

I started with the backlink overview report, which gave me a quick snapshot of a competitor’s profile (total backlinks, referring domains, toxicity score, Dofollow/nofollow, and even lost backlinks)

This last part was especially useful because lost backlinks can be great opportunities. If my competitor lost a valuable link, why not try to claim it?

Then there’s the broken link filter, which simplifies the process even further. With a single click, I could find broken backlinks—an easy way to uncover potential link-building opportunities.

Another feature that stood out was the Backlink Gap tool. Comparing my domain with five competitors at once helped me spot link opportunities I had been missing.

This is a feature you don’t always find in SEO tools, and it’s a game-changer for link-building strategies.

Lastly, I liked the Backlink Monitor tool. I could add my backlinks (or a competitor’s), and SE Ranking would track their status—whether they were still live, indexed, or lost. This kind of automated tracking is a huge time-saver.

Overall, SE Ranking offers smart backlink-tracking tools that make competitor research and link building easier. The Backlink Gap tool and lost backlink detection were my personal favorites. However, there are some flaws. Its database size and missing metrics mean it’s not a complete replacement for dedicated backlink analysis tools—at least not yet.

Site Audit is Complex Yet Useful

Most primary site audits are conducted via Google Search Console. 

But still, if you want to go deep into SE Ranking, a detailed Off-Page SEO audit and On-Page SEO audit could help you a lot.

There are hundreds of metrics you can audit with their site audit tool.

I personally use it to audit:

• Total Pages crawled
• Website security
• Pages blocked by robot.txt
• Canonical issues
• URL blocked by noindex
• Duplicate content
• HTTP Status code
• Broken Internal/External Links
• Images with alt text missing
• Core web vitals

I am a fan of its on-page SEO audit.

And finally, it suggests tasks or a to-do list to improve the SEO health of your page/site. Personally, I didn’t find all their suggestions useful except for the on-page SEO recommendations.

Before switching to SE Ranking, I tried the free version and was immediately impressed by its user-friendly interface.

Unlike tools like Semrush or Ahrefs, which can have complex interfaces, SE Ranking is straightforward and easy to navigate.

Upon logging in, all core features are readily accessible from the left sidebar without any hassle.

And they provide summaries of all core features for easy understanding.

But there’s one thing I didn’t like: they haven’t organized some tools properly. For example, the Backlinks monitor tool should be under the “Backlinks” tab, but you find it in “All Projects.”

Anyway, once you become familiar with the interface, finding where each tool is located won’t be a problem.
