GoDaddy: Although there are a lot of mixed reviews about GoDaddy platform but it is the #1 largest domain registrar in the world used by millions of people worldwide and it hosts millions of domains on its servers. GoDaddy also offers extremely cheap (most of the times under $1 per year) prices to attract new customers to purchase domains through their site. Bluehost: Bluehost hosts over a million sites around the world and it is one of the official WordPress recommended hosting platforms. Bluehost offers reliable and affordable hosting services starting at just $2.95 per month and also offer you a free domain for 1 year. Few Domain Search Tips to find Memorable Domains

Naming a website, business, app or a startup is always hard. Did you know that there are over 380 million domains which are already registered on the web right now?

That’s a lot of competition and that’s the same reason why it’s always difficult to find a memorable and catchy domain for your website. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some of the best blog name generators to help you find great domain for your website.

Here are few domain search tips and tricks that you can use to easily pick great domains for your website in 2024 and beyond. Let’s discuss them without much ado.

Use domain name generators: Okay, this is the quick tip and that’s what this post is all about. Using best blog domain generator tools like Panabee, Impossibility etc can quickly help you come up with a ton of domain ideas for your business, app or website. The beauty about using these domain suggestion tools is that almost all of them are free to use and you don’t even need to sign up to use their services for quick domain search.

Always get more creative: Get creative while doing domain search. Use your names or surnames or the place you stay or the favorite books or sentences that you like. Analyse your competition and see how their domains look like. Find out if you can copy and tweak any of their ideas without practicing any infringement activities.

Know your audience better: If you’re running an eCommerce store that sells baby care related products in Hyderabad, you can think of domain ideas like babycarehyd.com, hydbabycareproducts.com etc. You now get the idea, right? By understanding your target audience in a better way, you can come up with stunning domain ideas that are easy to remember for your audience and customers.

The shorter the better: The shorter your domain is the better it is to type and remember by your audience and customers. Amazon, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – you name it, almost all of the popular online platforms are really short and sweet and easier to type and remember. Try to make your own domains instead of looking for some popular short domains. Try to merge two or three words to create a single unique domain (for ex: Panabee = Panda + Bee which is a great unique domain that’s short and easy to remember).

If possible, stick with .com extension: Try to get the .com extension for your domain as mostly people will be entering your domain with .com TLD whenever they want to search for you or your business. This is especially a true case with non-tech savvy people who always search for any domain by entering .com at the end (so you’ll be losing a lot of potential customers, leads and traffic by not using a .com domain extension).

Finding domains with top paying keywords: Usually it’s a lot easier for a website to rank for if it already has targeted keywords (for ex: blogging.org, seotools.com etc). So if you’re really concerned about SEO and using targeted keywords within your domain, you must focus on research the keywords along with the competition and keyword difficulty. You can use tools like Semrush for finding highly profitable keywords with more traffic and less competition.

Be fast and stay upbeat: There are people who are investing in buying domains like they do in real estate. Or there are some sites or businesses which are already taken or using the domains that you’re looking for. So be prepared for brainstorming a ton of keyword ideas for domain suggestions before you even before your domain hunting. Also be really fast when trying to purchase a good domain which is available for you because you never know someone else might also be looking for the same domain.

Quick note: Make sure to provide a valid and often used email address while registering a domain so you can renewal your domain after every year without letting someone else to grab it since all the expired domains go back into a simple pool of available domains after nearly 40 day redemption period (where you’ve to purchase them at mostly higher prices).

  2. It was 4 years back I was doing event blogging and apk micro niche blogs. At that time I use exact match domains. Now, I prefer short, relevant, and memorable domain names.
Exact Match Domains has an issue with anchor text optimization. So, brandable domains are more valuable now.

  3. Always use a domain name that is short and exclusive. I purchased an exact match domain for my affiliate site when I first started blogging. The posts are ranking because the material is of high quality. Exact match domains, on the other hand, will not receive natural backlinks. Now, I use short and special domain names that are connected to my site’s niche.

  15. Always use a Short, Unique Domain name. When I first entered Blogging, I bought an exact match domain for my affiliate site. As the content is of high Quality, the posts are ranking. But, you won’t get natural backlinks for Exact match domains. Now, I use Domain names related to my site niche and they are short and unique.

As you mentioned in the Post, It is better to go with .com extension only. I use .in extension for my Amazon India affiliate site. At the time of starting the Blog, I thought .in will be good as my main traffic will be from India. But, I am getting few searches from Tier 1 countries as there are many NRI around the world. Choosing a .com extension would have brought more traffic to my site.
