Are you struggling to increase traffic to your websites? It’s always frustrating to see no website traffic even though you’re working hard to create great content.

“Build it, they will come” is NOT true for most online businesses. You have to go out and work hard to promote your content so other people can read it (and hopefully buy something from you).

That being said, not all traffic sources are equal. You need to find a platform that helps you get “highly targeted visitors” to your site so that you get more conversions along with traffic.

Here’s where Quora comes into play. Quora is the #1 Q & A (question and answer) platform where you can find a ton of useful information on a wide range of topics starting from rockets to nanotechnology to real estate and what not?

The best part about Quora is that you can use it to share your knowledge with others and add links to your own website. All in all, Quora can be a great platform for bloggers and marketers to drive a ton of traffic to their websites.

Here’s a detailed guide on using Quora to increase your website traffic in 2019. Let’s get started without much ado.

quora sales bluehost

As you can see above, we made $100 for one sign up which came from one of the Quora answers.

Here’s how it worked. Someone read one of the answers we posted on Quora, they liked it so much so that they instantly used one of the affiliate links we included in that post to purchase hosting from Bluehost.

That’s how we generated 1 successful affiliate sale which earned us $100. So it’s really a great way to increase your website earnings and overall affiliate sales from Quora.

All in all, use Quora to post great answers (make sure they are extremely useful to your target audience), include links to your own posts so that people can read them (include affiliate links if you want, but don’t paste them all over your answers), sit back and relax!

4. Improves your writing skills

  • Balaji Viswanathan has 506,411 followers (he is an Indian and the #1 most followed Quora on the platform)
  • Adam D’Angelo has 398,595 followers (he’s the who’s behind Quora, the CEO)

The above number of followers increases depending on how often they are writing new (and helpful) answers, so they change accordingly.

So if you really want to connect with any influencer, Quora can be a great place for you. From CEOs to startup founders and small business owners, you can literally connect with almost anyone.

7. Quora is a treasure for knowledge

Reading an answer and creating a useful answer for your audience is much more productive than browsing through pictures and liking them on sites like Facebook.

Your time is better spent on Quora when compared to other social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. Sites like Facebook is where you find unwanted junk (including photos or videos or funny stuff of other people) and you’re filling your brain with useless stuff.

Whereas Quora is a platform where you can find lots of interesting stuff which can actually help you learn something new and something useful. To put it simply, Quora makes you smart.

8. Quora helps you find the RIGHT answers

It doesn’t matter whether you are using Quora for doing research or to fix something, it helps you find the best answers and great information in one place. There are a lot of experts from various industries including dental to science to technology provide and share their wisdom with other users on Quora.

If you’re a blogger, you can find so much helpful information related to the topics you’re going to cover on your blog. So you can use Quora for doing research, coming up with new ideas and strategies and so on.

If you still don’t find answers or better answers to a particular question or topic, you can post a question by yourself (either by using your name or you can also post it anonymously). If the question is interesting enough, it will definitely fetch some good answers in the future.

9. Helps you get mentions from top sites

Do you want to get featured on big sites like Forbes, The Huffington Post, Time, Business Times and so on? Quora can help you with that.

Why? Because most of the top online publications like Forbes generally rely upon on authority platforms like Quora to republish few excellent answers on Quora.

In fact, Forbes has a separate category which regularly publishes useful answers from Quora (which also gives you credit, by linking to your Quora profile). Here’s how it looks like;

forbes quora

Forbes has a separate news section called “Quora contributor” which collects information from Quora and publishes the best answers from the platform by providing a credit to the original Quora answer.

Not only that, once your answer gets published on such top sites, Quora also publicly displays it in your credentials.

Have a look at it once;

featured quora

As you can see above, not only your answer gets featured on Forbes (or whatever the publication it is) badge but it will also be shown up in the “Published Writer” section on your Quora profile.

We all know how hard it is to get featured on top publication platforms like Forbes, Slate, HuffPost and so on. In fact, getting featured (name drop or linking to your site) is really expensive as it costs you thousands of dollars.

But with Quora, you can easily get featured on those sites at free of cost if your answers are really great. Make sure your answers don’t have any typos or grammatical mistakes and establish yourself as an authority on Quora to be able to land on top sites like Forbes.

Here are few proven ways to get featured on top sites like Forbes with your Quora answers.

Follow top writers on Quora: Firstly, you need to find and follow top writers on Quora. Quora shows “Top Writer” tag for all the top writers along with the years they stood as top writers. Did you know that, most of the answers written by top writers get featured on top publication sites like Forbes, The HuffPost etc?

By following top writers on Quora, you can find what are all the answers they are getting featured on top sites like Forbes. It gives you an idea about what kind of questions or topics you can choose in the future.

Although you don’t particularly need to become a “Top Writer” on Quora to be able to get featured on top sites with your Quora answers, but having that helps you immensely. To be able to become a “Top Writer”, you firstly need to be an expert in few key topics (categories) and provide useful answers on those topics regularly.

There are no thumb rules in how one can become a top writer on Quora but writing great answers (without adding any duplicate contents), having great command over English writing, being consistent with your answers can help.

Write technical related answers: Did you know that sites like Forbes is more biased towards publishing Quora answers which are mostly related to technology? Yes, that’s true. You can go through Forbes Quora section and you’ll find that most of the Quora answers that get picked by Forbes are related to technology.

So start finding trending topics or questions around technology. Provide authoritative answers and you’ll have high chances of getting featured on sites like Forbes.

Reach out to people who’ve already been featured: This is a less-known tip but works really great. You need to make a list of all the people whose answers have already been featured on top sites like Forbes and reach out to them. Make sure these contacts are covering similar topics as yours.

You can follow those writers, connect with them on social media, start upvoting or commenting on their Quora answers regularly to get into their radar. Once you’ve built a small connection, you can message them asking for the tips on how to get featured on those sites. It’s simple but works like a charm.

How to Raise On Quora to Increase Your Website Traffic And Sales Starting from Scratch

Do you want to become popular on Quora? Do you want to use Quora to increase your website traffic? Or do you want to boost your online sales? Here’s what you need to know about raising on Quora starting from scratch.

Define your goals for Quora

The first step is to define your goals for Quora. What do you really want from Quora? Why are you going to use it?

Here are few questions that can simplify the process of goal setting for Quora.

  • Do you want more traffic to your site from Quora?
  • Do you want to increase your website sales?
  • Do you want to get noticed online?
  • Do you want to brainstorm new blog post ideas?
  • Do you want to connect with other bloggers through Quora?

Once you figure out the goals to achieve from Quora, you can come up with a solid strategy to get more out of it. Otherwise, if you’re just getting started without defining your goals, you’ll use it for a few days and go back to normal stuff. So define your goals.

Once you’re done with setting goals for Quora, here’s what you need to do next to get started with it.

Step 1: Click here to sign up for Quora, you can also sign up by connecting to your Facebook account. It’s completely free to join.

Step 2: Click on the “Search Quora” option to enter your favorite topics or keywords to find and follow new topics on Quora. You can also search for people, bloggers or influencers in your niche to follow them.

Following people and topics is extremely important as Quora provides you the digest in your Quora feed with the same questions and answers thread that you follow. So follow as many topics and people as you can that you’re interested in.

Step 3: Pick a question that you’re interested in and start answering it. Once you’re done with writing, click on publish and it will be going live on Quora and your followers can see it. All the people who are already following the question you answer will also get to read your answer.

The more useful your answer is, the more upvotes (similar to likes on Facebook) it can fetch. The more upvotes your answer gets, the more people get to see it (and if your answer becomes viral on Quora, which ultimately helps you get more followers).

So your goal with Quora if you want more followers or exposure is to pick the right questions that you’re interested and answer some really helpful answers.

Find your target audience

Finding the target audience can be hard for other platforms, but not for Quora as it’s extremely easy to define your target audience so you can serve them better by providing great answers.

Let’s assume, you mostly talk about SEO, you can simply start finding your target audience by typing that keyword or topic into Quora search.

The people who’ve both asked and answered these questions fall within your target audience. So simple, isn’t it?

Make sure to enter more related keywords or the topics you want to target to find more people who are interested in those particular topics. Once you’re done with it, it’s time for you to understand your target audience wants and needs.

Here are few questions you need to ask yourself to know your target audience needs.

  • What my target audience is asking?
  • What problems are they facing?
  • What do they really want?

So there you go. Once you figure out your target audience along with their needs, you can serve them better with your answers on Quora.

Choose your questions smartly

Do you want to quickly increase your answer views on Quora, fetch more upvotes and get a ton of new followers?

Then try to pick questions with most followers.

Yes, that’s the trick in choosing questions on Quora smartly if you really want to get more upvotes, views, comments, followers and so on.

There’s a caveat with it. Since you’re picking “popular questions with most followers” to answer, you’ll find a ton of interesting and most useful answers on the particular threads already.

That’s why it’s going to be a challenge for you.

So make sure to give the BEST possible answer you can.

Otherwise, there’s no advantage of picking questions with most followers because even if you get more views for your questions, no one is going to upvote if your answers are not going to helpful for them. It’s as simple as that.

Stand out from others on Quora

If you are wondering about how you can stand out from other answers on Quora, here are few simple yet most effective tips for you.

Add unique and proper credentials for each topic: Quora allows you to show credentials right next to your profile name whenever you post an answer. It gives other people on Quora (including your followers) an idea about your expertise.

Here’s how it looks like;

quora credits

As you can see above, one of my Quora answers includes the credential as “I make $10k per month from affiliate marketing” and that credential is only used whenever I write answers around affiliate marketing.

Quora allows you to change your credentials anytime you want. In case if you want to update the default Credential used for all answers on a particular topic, simply go to your Quora Profile and click on the “Edit” link next to the Credentials & Highlights section. Then, you can click on the “Edit” option, enter any of the credential you want and select “Set as Default”. You’re done!

Don’t copy paste answers: Most bloggers think that they can copy paste their own Quora answers and use them in other relevant questions on Quora. That’s a bad approach as you can get banned for plagiarism issues. It’s better NOT to repurpose your own blog posts. Write original answers to stay safe from Quora future penalties.

Use your own picture and create an interesting bio: Once you’re done with the registration on Quora, upload your own picture (gravatar) and make sure to create an interesting bio that makes other people read and click on any links you provide.

Make sure to include the following things in your Quora bio.

  • Try to include your professional experience (blogging experience or your previous experience, skills you possess and so on)
  • Link to your blogs and social media profiles such as Facebook, Twitter and so on so that your Quora followers can easily connect with you on social media
  • If you’ve written guest posts for other sites, make sure to include them as it helps you build social proof which works like a charm
  • Include your best answers on Quora (which attracted more upvotes, comments and so on)

Create a blog on Quora: The best way to stay unique from other users on Quora is to create a blog as most people only write answers. Just make sure to have enough followers for you on your Quora profile (at least 5k to 10k followers) to be able to build momentum from there.

To create a blog on Quora, you can follow the following steps:

  • Click your profile image located in the top right section on Quora
  • Select “Blogs” from the drop-down section
  • Click the “Create Blog” button
  • Enter your blog name, URL along with the description
  • Click “Create Blog”

That’s it, you’re done. Now, you can publish anything you want on your blog and whoever is following your blog (followers) get notified whenever you publish something new.

Promote your products strategically to increase sales

Fortunately, Quora allows you to sell almost anything be it your own products or affiliate products as you can easily add links within your Quora answers.

But here’s the thing: make sure to promote your products strategically if you want to increase sales. Here are a few quick tips to promote your affiliate products smartly on Quora.

Help before you sell: If you want to make money from Quora by selling your products, you first need to develop a mindset of “helping first, selling next”. Don’t sell hard. Don’t self-promote. Instead, help people with your answers and try to find ways to include your products wherever they fit in naturally.

Don’t pitch too many products: One big mistake most people make while promoting something on Quora is they promote too many products at once. Don’t do that. If you’re writing an answer on Quora, it’s always better to talk about one or two products and provide links to purchase them instead of talking about 10 products at one go with affiliate links.

Use a proper ratio: There should a proper content to promotion ratio maintained on Quora if you want to promote your products strategically. You can maintain a 3:1 or 5:1 ratio (which means, for every 3 educational answers you write on Quora, you can write 1 promotional post which contains links to your products such as affiliate links).

Become the most viewed writer

The good thing about writing answers on Quora regularly is, you can become a most viewed writer if your answers are fetching more upvotes and views.

The best way to get more followers and become a Quora celebrity is to become the most viewed writer on as many topics as you can.

Quora shows you the top 10 writers with the most answer views in the last 30 days. Here’s how it looks like;

quora top writers

As you can see above, I’m the 2nd most viewed writer in “Blogging” topic. I’ve written over 100 answers related to blogging which fetched over 10,000 views in the last 30 days.

The more views you get for a particular topic, the faster you can get into the most viewed writer for that topic. It’s as simple as that.

So how can you become the most viewed writer on Quora? Here are few excellent tips that work like a charm.

Pick a topic or two: The key to getting the most viewed writer badge on Quora is to pick few topics to get started with. It’s a smart idea to find one or two topics that you’re interested in (or have the experience to write about) instead of picking random questions from Quora feed.

So pick one or two topics to write about (follow those topics) and regularly check if there are any questions being asked that are worth answering.

Write at least 3 answers around one topic: Most people who use Quora don’t know this that “you need to have at least 3 answers in the topic” if you want to be seen as a most viewed writer in that particular topic. This rule doesn’t apply for trending topics though, but it’s the general rule mostly Quora algorithms follow.

Know how the whole stuff works: Before thinking about getting into the most viewed writer slot for any topic, it’s always better to know how the whole things work on Quora. Each question in Quora has one or more topics attached to them (for instance, SEO, link building, Google tricks etc)

When you answer a question and the answer is viewed by someone, it instantly generates one view for each of the topics associated with that question. Likewise, all the views for all answers written by you are aggregated by the topic.

For each topic, the top 10 authors who have the maximum number of views in the last 30 days for their answers will be listed in the “Most Viewed Writers” section.

Since this is calculated each and every single day, you may come out of the list and new people may join the list of most viewed writers (depending on the number of views their answers receive for a particular topic). So there you go, that’s how it works.

Now, let’s get started without much ado.

Good Followers And Answers Ratio

One of the best ways to get more upvotes for your Quora answer is to pick the right ratio of followers and answers on Quora.

For instance, we don’t go for a question that has just 1 follower but already has 10 answers. But we prefer those questions that has 100 followers and just 25 answers.

Are you getting it?

Let’s show it with a real time example on Quora.

We recently published an answer on Quora about the topic “How much do you earn?

quora ratio

As you can see above, the question has around 120 followers (that many people are following the question to get an answer) while it only has 33 answers.

So that’s a great question to write a helpful answer because it not only has less answers but also more followers.

If you can also go through our answer written for the above question, you’ll notice that the answer already has generated over 1000 views (Quora publicly displays the view count for answers) within 24 hours after publishing it.

The more views you get for your answers, the more popular it quickly becomes (which means, more upvotes for your answers along with new followers).

So pick those questions with less answers and more followers. That’s the key to finding great questions that will fetch you more upvotes, followers, comments and views to your answers on Quora.

Top Traffic Answers of Other People

One of the easiest yet most powerful ways to find targeted questions to answer on Quora is to find the “All Time Views” answers section of most viewed writers on Quora.

For example, Neil Patel is the 2nd most viewed writer under the topic “blogging” and when you go to his Quora profile and click on the “All Time Views” section, you can find a list of all the questions (along with his answers) that fetched a great number of views.

Here’s how it looks like;

Quora Profile all time views

  • Pick a topic or two that you’re interested to answer on Quora

  • Visit all the top 10 most viewed writers Quora profiles and click on the “All Time Views” section

quora writing tip

Did you see that? He said, write more than 1950 words. That means, one of the top writers and most followed persons on Quora is suggesting to write longer answers of around 2000 words.

He also recommends us to simply choose a question on a topic you know something about. Write the best possible answer you can on Quora and forget about writing “perfect answers” and make sure to do the routine grammatical checks before you publish an answer.

So there you go, if you really want to write answers on Quora that help you get more upvotes, views and followers, start writing long and detailed answers. Just make sure they are helpful, not full of junk!

2. Write killer introductions

If you want to write great answers on Quora, you must write attention grabbing introduction lines.

Why? Because the first few introduction lines help you immediately grab the attention of the readers on Quora. Since you are not a top writer or famous writer on Quora (whose answers are seen and read by most people just by seeing your name), it’s so important to learn how to write captivating introduction lines.

Here are few simple yet most effective tips to write great introduction lines on Quora (you can use the same tips to write blog post introduction as well).

  • Start your answers with a quote (which should be relevant to the question or topic you’re writing about)
  • Open with an interesting statistic or numbers (as they always hook your readers)
  • Start with a question (and make it interesting to read, because questions spark readers attention)
  • Share a story of yours (which can be a failure or success memory, as people mostly connect with stories easily)

3. Learn how to write for online skimmers

Whether you know it or not, most people who read online don’t read every single word you write. What do they do instead? They skim.

Yes, even on Quora, people skim your answers. Even if you’ve written a great answer with helpful information, your answers will go unnoticed if your answer has long and boring paragraphs. Here are few quick tips to write for skimmers.

  • Write short sentences. This is a short sentence. And short sentences work like a charm especially online.
  • Write within short paragraphs. Don’t use more than 5 lines of text. It’s better to break your paragraphs after 2 to 3 lines. It makes easy for online people to read even longer answers.
  • Use subheads. Use lots of them if you’re writing detailed answers. You can breakdown your primary topic into various sections and use subheads to break them down.
  • Include bullet or numbered lists
  • Use bold text rather than italics (make sure to bold sentences or letters that are extremely important)

4. Avoid questions with 100+ answers

While this is NOT an exclusive writing tip but if you’re writing something on Quora, it helps you immensely. When you are just getting started on Quora, avoid answering a question that has 100+ answers already.

Why? The simple reason is “your answer is not likely to be noticed” because there is always a limit to how much interest a question can sustain. That’s the whole point of avoiding questions with 100+ answers.

How do you know that a Quora question has more than 100 answers? Luckily Quora helps with that by showing 100+ answers (if a question has over 100 answers already).

Here’s how it looks like;

more answers

As you can see above, the above question has over 100 answers, which means, even if you write a great answer for that question, your answer is not likely to get noticed because there’s too much competition (too many answers have been written already!).

5. Write every day

Write every single day. It can be on Quora, on your own blog or use Google Docs. But, write something every day. Write at least 500 words a day. That’s how you get better at writing.

If you’re still wondering about how to write every day to write great answers on Quora (or great articles for your own blog), here are few PROVEN tips for you.

  • Pick a time: Few people wake up early and find mornings to be the best time to do important tasks such as reading or writing. Few people do at night. Find out whether you’re a morning person or a night owl. It helps you immensely when to write.
  • Choose a goal: The best way to make writing a daily habit is to set a writing goal. You can pick to write 200 to 300 words a day (and continue it up to once you start writing 500 to 1000 words a day), depending on your free time. Setting a writing goal helps you achieve things faster.
  • Select a platform: You can pick platforms like Quora or Medium to write every day. If not, you can simply use Google Docs to write whatever you want. We suggest you pick few interesting questions on Quora and start writing them one by one so you can publish each one every day.

6. Read other peoples answers

The great writers do two things well: one, they write every day and other is they read a lot. By reading more, you’ll grasp the writing tones of other writers.

The more you read, the better the sentences you can learn to form while writing. Pick few writers on Quora and start analysing their writing voice.

Most of the top writers have their own unique writing tone. So try to find and follow at least 3 to 5 writers on Quora whose writing style inspires you.

That way you can read more of their answers and by reading more of their stuff, you can easily finetune your own writing tone.

So what are you waiting for? Start following your favourite writers on Quora and read more. You can also follow other bloggers or writers to learn how they write captivating blog posts.

7. Pay attention to your grammar

This is extremely important as no one tolerates bad grammar.

Your Quora answers can get you more upvotes and followers only when they are grammatically correct. Quora is literally read by millions of people worldwide, that’s why you should know how to write quality answers without grammatical mistakes.

How can you write error-free answers on Quora? The key here is to write and read more. Your writing skills improve over time. There’s no other magic formula.

If you’re a non-native English speaker, you can use online proofreading tools as they help you immensely improve your writing. Here are few tools you can give a try.

  • Grammarly (there’s also a free browser extension)
  • Ginger
  • Polish My Writing
  • Reverso
  • And the list goes on

Quick tip: The good thing about using Quora is that, it allows other readers to edit your answers. So accept all the meaningful and well-intentioned edits made by other readers on your answers. It makes your answers even more helpful without any grammatical mistakes.

8. Diversify yourself

Don’t just write on a single topic.

Only when you write on multiple topics, you’ll know what type of answers can go viral on Quora. So don’t stick to one topic such as fitness or real estate or SEO (or anything else). Explore other topics as well where you can add honest and useful answers.

For instance, you can write about productivity tips even if you’re a doctor. You can give life advice even if you’re a fitness coach. You don’t have to stick to one topic where you’ve the skills.

Go and explore various topics which are out of your comfort zone. Give a try to them by answering interesting questions around those topics.

9. Add images

This is another ignored tip by most writers on Quora. They don’t add any images.

Adding images within your Quora answers make them visually appealing. You can convey a lot of information just by using ONE image.

As they say “a picture is worth a thousand words”. So use images from stock photography sites. There are sites like Unsplash, StockSnap etc where you can find free images without any copyright issues.

So use such stock free images while answering on Quora to make your answers appealing. Don’t use random images from Google as it violates Quora’s policy and your answers can get deleted or collapsed for the same reason.

Try to include at least one image for each answer you write on Quora. It doesn’t matter where you use within your answer, it makes your answer stands out from other answers. It’s as simple as that.

10. The ending should be great

How do you end your answers on Quora is extremely important. In fact, your ending is as important as your introduction. Unfortunately, most people who write on Quora simply neglect the importance of ending and just use some random links to their site. It gives you no better results.

So don’t do that. Your ending section should be great. There are several ways to end your answers on Quora to create more impact.

  • Summary of your answer
  • Call to action (CTA)

When it comes to asking the call to actions, there are several ways including;

  • Decide whether you want more upvotes (if yes, ask for upvotes and nothing else)
  • Decide whether you want more comments (if yes, ask people to leave a comment on your answer for any additional queries and nothing else)
  • Decide whether you want more followers (if yes, ask to follow you or use links to some of your other interesting answers)
  • Decide whether you want more traffic to your website (if yes, provide links to your site and asked people to visit your site or a specific page and nothing else)

And when it comes to creating a summary, you can use words like;

  • Conclusion
  • Bottomline
  • Final thoughts
  • Over to you and so on

Just make sure to summarise your whole answer in a paragraph or two (they are particularly useful when you’re writing long and detailed answers on Quora). This helps your readers to easily digest what your answers are all about.

FAQs On Increase Website Traffic from Quora

Here’s a list of few important and interesting questions around using Quora that you might find useful while using it.

1. How often should you write on Quora?

There’s no thumb rule on how often should you post on Quora as there are no limits. You can post as many times as you can in a day or you can use Quora without posting anything at all.

But if you’re a blogger who is looking to get more traffic from Quora, then publish at least one answer a day (or 5 times a week) can be a great way to build your presence, increase your followers and get better results with Quora in less time.

The key here is to write as many helpful answers as you can instead of simply copy-pasting your own stuff from your published answers (or blog posts). Don’t do that. Make sure to be consistent with your posting schedule on Quora for better results.

2. Are there are better alternatives to Quora in 2019?

There are a ton of alternatives to Quora but most of them are not as useful as Quora (for instance, Yahoo answers is useless for most people). If you’re looking for really good alternatives to Quora to use in 2019 and beyond, you can check out the following sites.

  • Medium (most active users on Quora are shifting towards Medium because the platform offers much better and convenient features to start your own blog for free, share your knowledge, get more followers, earn money and so on)
  • Reddit (this is another excellent Quora alternative where you can submit various types of content including links, text posts, and images, which are then voted up or down by other members)
  • Stack Overflow (Stack Overflow is a question and answer site for professional programmers, so if you’re an enthusiast program who’s looking to learn more about a wide range of topics in computer programming, this site is exclusively for you)

3. How to ask a question on Quora?

If you want to add a question on Quora, you first need to register yourself on Quora. Joining on Quora is completely free and you can either use your email or Facebook credentials to sign up for free.

Once you’re logging into your Quora account, click on “Ask Question” at the top right of the page. You will be shown a list of all the questions that are similar to your question.

In case, if you don’t find your question, you can simply click on “Ask Question” to add it to Quora so that it gets distributed to all the writers on the platform and you’ll get notified as soon as you start getting new answers.

You can also anonymously ask a question by clicking on the drop-down menu on Quora, “Show to followers” and selecting “Anonymous” from the list. It helps you maintain your privacy and don’t reveal your details such as name or photo etc.

Once you select “Anonymous” from the list, click submit and your question will be posted to Quora and you’ll be taken to the Anonymous “Edit Link” for the anonymous question. That’s it, you’re done!

4. What are promoted answers on Quora?

Are you lately seeing promoted answers on Quora and wondering about what they are all about? Promoted answers are paid answers which are promoted by businesses or people (like bloggers, marketers, SEO and so on).

You can easily distinguish all the promoted answers on Quora because they’ll be labelled as “Promoted by” along with the name of the individual or business who is promoting the answer. Just like any other answer on Quora, you can upvote, downvote, share or comment on it.

5. Can I be banned on Quora?

Yes, of course, if you’re violating Quora rules again and again. If you violate Quora policy options multiple times such as creating duplicate content repeatedly (even if it’s you’re copying your own articles), you might face Quora banned issues.

You will be first receiving content warnings and then temporary edit blocks but if you still keep violating their policies even after warnings, you will mostly be banned from Quora (so you can’t use or access your account and all your followers see a banned account on your profile).

  20. Yash Sharma says:

    Hi,
It is a nice post. Clearly explained everything.
But I want to just include that we can’t just do affiliate marketing on Quora. I have tried putting an affiliate link & it was rejected by Quora. Correct me if I am wrong?
    Thanks

    • Anil Agarwal says:

Yes, include links to product review pages or comparison posts instead of directly using your aff links as Quora is strictly rejecting such promotion links. I generate few more sales just by linking to my other pages (where the affiliate links are present) instead of directly using the aff links from Quora.

Hi Navin, glad you liked it, just defining audience is the key to Quora success. Without it, you’ll be writing for everyone which is not a smart idea if you want to drive more traffic from any platform. Once you define your target audience, find out their wants and needs so that you can pick the right questions to answer.
